Life After High school College is not worth the time and effort because there more to life after high school then just college and the military is a better alternative right after high school. Start a business. Many of the entrepreneurs, people will hear about today did not get a college degree and ended up doing well in life. Steve Jobs started Apple, Pixar, and NeXT Computer after dropping out of college due to financial issues. The good thing about starting a business is that “ you do not necessarily need a business degree to start your own business – you just need an idea and a plan”(Barrington). If a person goes to college to get a business degree they will end up taking classes do not need to take, which wastes time and money. Money is always a problem. Student debt is a big problem with college students. Wieder said “Students today are taking on more debt and make higher education a risky investment.” First starting out in a business one might have some debt, if they take out loans, but as their business grows they will be able to pay it off. People will have more time to accomplish their goals. Getting a degree takes 4 years and if someone wants a higher one it will take longer. In those 4 years a person's business can so much and they will already have a job. Starting a business will help one become more knowledge and understand real life problems. Get a job. If a person does not want to start a business they can get a job. There are many well paying jobs out there that do not require a degree. Jobs a person can get with a high school diploma are a food services manager, mechanic, insurance agent, and many more. If a person already has a job in high school and they work hard, then the employer might not want to let them go. “Students who worked part-time during high school might be able to stay with the same employer on a full-time basis and with higher pay” (Johnson). Sometimes, when getting a job it does not matter what type of degree one has, it is about how hard they are willing to work to get it done. “Labor market is not between those with more or less education, but between those services can be delivered” (Crawford). Someone can get a career job they been wanting right out of high school,
