The Great Salt Lake is located in the northern part of Utah. The lake has a high salinity and although it has more salt than seawater it is still able to sustain different species like birds or shrimps unlike the Dead Sea. The standard microbes that are a part of the ecosystem of the northern part of the lake in order of most populated: bacteria of at least two genera,Halobacterium and Halococcus; two algae ,Dunaliella salina and D. Viridis. The algae and bacteria live off each other by being the others nutrients. The reason for this is because bacteria produce ammonia, which algae uses for nutrients, while the organic matter that algae makes is used by bacteria as nutrients. Animals eat algae and cold temperatures during winter stunt metabolism

I was born in Dallas, Texas but when I was 3 years old I was taken to my parents’ home country, Mexico. My mother took my younger sister and me to Mexico while my father stayed in the United States and worked to provide for us. I spend 6 years in Mexico and I went to school there. I had an amazing childhood in the place my parents were born and had the opportunity to grow up around my family and culture. I became a fond lover of the traditions and the peaceful life of what I consider my country. I have many amazing memories from living in Mexico. The way everything called for a celebration where everyone was invited. The dedication that every festival I attended showed. Simply all the traditions that even when I live miles away from Mexico have stuck with me, things I still celebrate with my family every year. I love to be able to call myself Mexican American and to be able to share my parents. My love for Mexican culture plays a role in my decision to want to go to Spain. I want to see where some of the customs I know originated from and see where my ancestors came from.

For the decades the first nation peoples are not being treated properly. Whether in terms of signing treaties or getting compensation of using their water from shoal lake 40. The Canadian government has carried out against Indigenous people, their land and their water as well. A centaury ago when the demand for water was increasing in Winnipeg city because of growing population , the federal government forcefully captured their reserve land on shoal lake 40 in order to construct aquaduct which is used to carry water extracted from shoal lake into the Winnipeg city. The federal government did not think about the consequences the first nation people will face who actually depend on shoal lake for their survival. T

One of Barry Counties most visited and largest lakes is none other than Gun Lake. The lakefront is home to a deep Indian history that reflects the extensive development of the surrounding area over the years. The lake is a key area in Barry County for recreation and tourism, but its rich history is its most important aspect.

What I did this summer. That`s a good question to be honest, I did a lot of things that were considered fun for me, like shopping, hanging out with my family, hanging out with my friends, going to the beach, the water park and much more. But I will only break it down to two or three of my favorite things I did this Summer, so stick around to see what my favorite things about this Summer were.

This summer one scientific thing I did was use a water mat on Lake Winnipesaukee. A water mat is a giant raft that floats on the surface of the water. It's constructed from the same styrofoam type material that a pool noodle is made out of. It is extremely versatile and can be used in many different ways. The way that I enjoyed using it the most was to jump from our pontoon boat onto the mat. I would make my way to the edge of the boat, steady myself, and leap, landing directly on top of the green float. The impact of the jump made my feet feel sore for a few seconds. When I was ready, I would hurdle myself off the mat and climb back onto the boat. While this activity does require a lot of skill, it requires a lot of science as well.

Set high in the Adirondack Mountains range, Lake Placid, a sizeable freshwater lake, lends its name to the village which lies on its shores. Ripe with history, Lake Placid has flourished as an Olympic Village since its settlement in the nineteenth century. Over the course of these last two-hundred years, residents have built and rebuilt Lake Placid Homes which have experienced history in the making firsthand.

A possible getaway vacation location would be going to lake travis ,Texas. Lake travis is located in Austin , Texas. Families can spend nights on dazzling hotels and rental houses on the lake. Just take one step out and be right by lake travis. The city of Lake Stevens is centered off of a 9-square mile lake located near the coast of Washington. Though we are a small city of only around 30,000 people, those who live here enjoy it. Ever since 1880, we have had beautiful scenery and property. Lake Stevens is not only a gorgeous city, it is a functional, safe, and enjoyable city for all of our citizens.

On the far Northern border of Dundee Wisconsin, a small Scout Camp was founded in 1946 and a legend was born. This camp was named Long Lake, after the lake upon which it resides, and it would experience its fair share of storms and turmoil over the ensuing years. Some of its visitors only ever viewed it as a mosquito infested swamp while others would go on to call it their second home. To me however, I have always had a love hate relationship with its wooded trails and murky waters, yet I shall always cherish my memories of it in my heart. Regardless, Camp Long Lake is still one of my favorite places to visit with its quaint ecology conservation lodge, the various activities its main waterfront has to offer, and the thrills of sleeping

Lake Tonetta is polluted! Help us close it down before it’s too late! That's what the concern citizens think. However, I can prove otherwise. We think Lake Tonetta is healthy. So we conducted multiple experiments to prove our hypothesis is correct such as pH.

In the high desert mountains of Eastern border California there are slopes and valleys covered in grass with the sun shining brightly around the foothills and clouds forming on the surface of the land. In cold temperatures, water vapor crystallizes the air into microscopic snowflakes. The grassy shores surrounds blue water, and in the center you will find an ancient volcanic cone. This landscape is called Mono Lake. I chose to write about the Mono Indian Language after a friend had shown me pictures of her road trip to Mono Lake, which was so unbelievable beautiful I thought it would be an interesting language to write and learn about. This lake, to my surprise is in California, and Mono Lake was an important part of the Mono

Lake Tahoe holds a dear place in my heart because it is one of the most often destinations for our family vacations. I lost count of how many times I have been there. For every occasion, it is just the place to go to. It is such a relaxing place, at least for the weekend I do not have to worry about anything. Lake Tahoe is a very green place to be in California. California is a very dry state and having forests like Lake Tahoe is something to be proud of. It attracts thousands of visitors each year and has numerous activities to do there. Not only is Lake Tahoe extremely beautiful, but it has many ecological features.
