Family means the world to me in every aspect, but a person that means even more then that is my sister, Jordan. She paved my life for me without me knowing; she is always there for me and believes in me when I do not believe in myself. Jordan and I very similar in the way that if we had the chance to do everything together we would take every opportunity we could get. How our relationship developed was like every pair of young sisters, we did not get along very well when we were younger because we took the days we had together for granted. The day she left for college is when it really hit me that she was the biggest inspiration in my life. I was given the name Chase Andrew Miner. My mom had liked the name Chase and Chance, but she finally decided on Chase. While that decision wasn’t too hard for her to make, (at least she said it wasn’t) my last name, Miner, was an even easier decision. My mom was married to my dad and she took his last name, so the obvious last name would be Miner. My mom told me she had a really difficult time figuring out a middle name for me. She couldn’t find a name that fit in well. One day my aunt, Lori, called my mom and asked about the name Andrew. My mom had thought about it and she decided that that name fit. So from that day I was Chase Andrew Miner. The joke my mom says now is if she knew she’d have to chase me so much, she would have named me Slow. But word got around of what

While I was a kid my family and I used to go on bike rides all the time to anywhere you could think of. We would go boating everyday in the summer. We would ski, wakeboard, go tubing and many more. Go tubing was one of the funniest memories I have boating because the thrill you get is unbeatable trying to hold on for dear life. Anothering thing we did as a family was go on vacation everywhere. The road trips were always fun because we would bring our dog turbo. The one trip that will never be forgotten is North Carolina. We go there every year with family friends and it will be a trip on go on with my kids.

Everyday we ventured to the different beaches in San Diego, La Jolla, Coronado, and Pacific Beach. At La Jolla we got to see the fascinating seals, which smelled horrific, and you could walk next to them while on the coves. While we were at Coronado we relaxed on the beach, took a dip in the water, and played paddleball. We packed up and went back to our rooms. Girls went swimming in the pool, and the guys went out to the piers fishing. Since it was my first time well i didn't know how to fish but I learned. One person caught a small shark, another caught a huge fish what kind i don't know. And many other men in my group and others were catching fishes the ones catching the small fishes were getting thrown back in. And that was the end of our Saturday night fishing till dawn. Came Sunday morning before check out well we had to pack up and load the vehicle's not to go home but leave before kicking us out our room. We all went out looking for a place to have lunch. After driving around stopping at gas stations asking where was it good to eat at we FINALLY all decided on a spot Charlotte Plummer's Seafood right off the ocean. The salad bar was great anything you could possibly think of. My plate consisted of fried fish, fried oysters, and fried shrimp. I could say it was pretty delicious and worth every penny. After lunch we visited the gifts shops that were across the street. Bought souvenirs to bring back to remember this great vacation spent with my loved ones. And had to visit K-mart since San Antonio doesn't have one. Pretty much as i remembered it. Minus the food court yard they had. Still had pretty good sells good clearances. For this project I interviewed Kevin Engle from our class who sat right next to me the day we were assigned the project. It turns out that Kevin was never intended to have his first name be what it is. He was initially going to be called Kyle or Kasey, but his parents felt that his first name was a good name in between those names for him to have. It is actually interesting because his brother’s name is Jake which meant that his parents named their kids from oldest to youngest in alphabetical order. Kevin’s last name comes from Germanic origins and is actually a translation for angel in German. I went to Disney World we went with my aunt, grandma and grandpa. We went on lots of fun rides I really enjoyed it. Another summer we started PKSA karate I am still doing it today.

My parents were set on girl names; if I was a girl, my name would be Lauren, after my Grandpa Loren. Thinking of a middle name became a little difficult. My mom’s mom name was MariLee, and my parents wanted to take something from her name. Finally making a decision, they chose to take the “Lee” out as my middle name. Naming a boy would be a little different; my parents wanted the name Dalton. The only reason behind that is because my mom liked the name; I beg to differ.

We woke up early on the second day and got ready, we loaded back up and headed to Disney World. We all were so excited, even if we were already burned. I don't remember much of Disney World but i remember see all of my characters and getting my Mini Mouse hat that had a veil and a crown on it. It was pink and I had made papaw wear it for me. Once we got to San Antonio we got lost for about 15 minutes because of a road contruction. It was fun with my girls we were singing, talking about there school and we saw diffrent park attractions and all kinds of other places. Finally at around 11:30 a.m we got to Harlingen, Texas at my sisters house safe and sound. But that didn't stop us , once we got there we just picked up my sister and my nephew and we headed to the beach of South Padre Island. We were almost there because you can start to smell the fresh salt water and see the big 2 mile stretch of the bridge. Once we arrived we parked right by the water on the sand. My girls just got off my car and started running towards the waves of water. Me and my sister watched while my nephew and my girls were splashing in the water. We really enjoyed that day. Names mean a lot. They give a means for others to identify us and may have a rich history that provides clues to a person’s ancestry. Some parents name their children after a family member, historical figure, or for other important reasons. Sadly, my name wasn’t chosen for any of those reasons. My parents found it in a baby name book and decided they liked it.

My sister thought of my name when I was a newborn. At the time she was really into a book series called The Babysitters Club, and there was this one character that was named Christie. My sister loved her name so much that she suggested the character’s name to our parents. They agreed, but they wanted to change the Ch into a K. So that is how I got Kristie as my name. I am the type of person who is very quiet and reserved who does not like to talk to people that much.
