Introduction
As part of my initial assignment in HRM 530, I have been tasked to present a thoughtful and on various aspects of Human Resource Strategy as it aligns with Business strategies. So as a result of this assignment, I will attempt to address the following issues in the order listed herein. The company that I have selected to explore these areas is The FORD Motor Company. I chose Ford primarily based on the current events that have reported that Ford will be opening more plants in the US. Ford Motor Co. announced it would cancel plans to spend $1.6 billion in a new production plant in Mexico and instead invest $700 million into the Flat Rock Assembly Plant south of Detroit, which will add 700 jobs. Obviously, my ultimate goal is to provide a full-fledged effort to ensure the productive and fruitful integration between HR strategy and Business strategy.
Describe the HR job positions and the responsibilities listed for that HR department.
My selected company, the Ford Motor Company, is one of the largest automobile companies in the world. It has a very robust Human Resource department. Some of its key positions are:

Human resource is an appellation used in referring to the workforce of an organization or company. Human resource management is involved in the act of putting together employees in an organized manner to assure the objectives of the organization are achieved in a competent and experienced manner. Human resources are the most important services of any organization since they are the catalysts of non-human resources and the medium for developing competitive advantages and sounds of creativity. No organization can exist without a human resources department (Walsh, 2009). A company without an HR department would be reducing its operations and could collapse within a short amount of time.
Human resource departments today have a more distinct, calculated position within organizations, and human resource strategy influences the bottom line. “One of the challenges for HR leaders is convincing executive leadership teams that human capital is one of the most important resources in which the company can invest” (Mayhew, 2014, p.). Subsequently, “this return on investment is an essential part of the argument for including HR as part of an overall business strategy” (Mayhew, 2014, p.). Human resource departments utilize the information given to them from company executives and leaders, coupled with their respective expertise on all things personnel, and they plan and implement staffing concerns for the betterment of the organization. From preparing job analysis, to comparing inventory and forecasting, it is the responsibility of human resources to consider the objectives of an organization and fulfill those goals while operating the specific planning relative to HR.
Adulting is hard, talking on the phone is hard, and taxes, taxes are definitely hard. Think back on the time when you had no clue what was going on, and google was your best friend. Things got complicated fast, even if you had people helping you along the way. Today’s teenagers don’t really have much of adult resources, so they use google. As I looked for inspiration for this project, I realized that I only wanted one thing out of it, to help people. As a teenager that can barely help myself, I didn’t realize how much of a challenge this would be.
Even though the Ford Motor Company is currently doing extremely well in the automotive industry, they are currently emerging opportunities to be a leader in electrification, autonomy, and mobility. The Ford Motor Company recently purchased SAIPS and Chariot. “SAIPS is a world-class provider of customized algorithmic solutions in the fields of computer vision and machine learning” (Crunchbase, na, nd). Chariot is a company that offers shuttle service and commuter mobility programs in larger cities. The purchase of these two companies will help the Ford Motor Company as they expand as a mobility company as well as the leader in the automotive industry. According to the article, Ford Outlines Growth Plan, “Ford is evolving its business in three ways:
Rugged, stylish, comfortable, economic, and most of all, dependable. The Ford F-150 is the pickup truck that changed the nation. From its very beginning, the Ford truck has taken care of its owner’s necessities from hauling hay to visiting family and friends. Since its inception, the Ford Motor Company (FMC) has earned the loyalty of its customers. Most of all, the ford pickup truck has earned the respect of farmers, families, and businessmen alike. How did the FMC earn the loyalty of the people? By creating the highest value possible for its customers. Ford provided the most reliable and economical vehicle in its time.
Motors & More, Inc. will be using the prospector strategy to ensure success of their business. The role of this strategy is extremely rocky, but if effectively executed correctly will be limitless. A prospector strategy is on growth, innovation, and new product development. Human Resources strategy within any organization is to also be concerned about “the organization’s customers, competition, cost structure, and regulatory environment, on a short note jobs” (Lee, 2013, para. 2). The reason these fundamentals are important when focusing on the Human Resource department, is because it creates the creation of jobs, allows jobs to show equal growth with a strong performance level and job retention. We need to ensure every employee has the support
Ford has had to face various challenges and current goals are to obtain the market share from its competitors and build the vehicles consumers are demanding. By meeting these needs, the company can redefine itself. With consumers trying to decrease their debt and an increasing number of competitors showcasing fuel-efficient vehicles, Ford needs to create affordable high quality and fuel efficient vehicles to remain competitive. An internal analysis of Ford Motor Company will evaluate its resources and capabilities. This analysis can aid in determining Ford’s cost position, competency, and competitiveness in the current marketplace.
Standardized components and efficient sales and distribution is the most evident benefits Ford Motor has achieved. Contracting Ford’s product line by selling out Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover, Volvo, and Mercury contributed to this success. This action allowed Ford to focus more on the Ford brand, and make it great. This also helped reach one of
Ford was created in 1903 by Henry Ford in Detroit, MI. He quickly revolutionize the development of the automobile as a product and he also was the visionary behind the assembly line for mass production, and in turn made it possible for automobiles to become more affordable for the average household. Ford had a strong belief in his mission statement, which defines the kind of actions that are needed to fulfill organizational goal. However, Ford also had a vision statement that helped drive its global organization to reach its higher performance levels. Both areas assist in the overall foundation that Ford’s strong beliefs stand on. Both mission and vision statement are factors that solidify the success and strategic direction in the automotive industry.
I had got the chance to look into the human resource perspective with the aid of an exciting interview with the HR executive manager of “Business-Jet Seating Solutions”. She was very cooperative, we had an interesting discussion about the responsibilities of human resources in the organization and in particular the strategic concerns related to the human resources which are currently affecting the company. Most of the debate was about the lack of contribution of the HR in the expansion and execution of the overall business strategy. The interview was very edifying and it gave me a good depiction of the HR management role play in the organization. It was evident that HR had limited access over strategic growth of the company, so

In most companies Human Resources is being recognised as a strategic partner. Integration of the human resource strategy with the business strategy is achieved by considering HMR issues as part of the formation of business strategies. Operational human resource responsibilities became less
This paper reviews and explains why organisations are increasingly taking a more strategic approach to managing their human resources function and integrating this function with the corporate strategy development of the organisation. The paper is divided into three key parts:
