What can be said for the music artist Elvis Presley, other than he is most undoubtedly the reason that Rock and Roll survived past its start, and grew to the massive popularity that it still grasps onto to this day. Although he may have been born a simple white southerner, he masterfully intertwined country music with the raw emotion of gospel and blues in order to create his own breed of unmatchable music. By him taking two vastly different genres of music from two equally different cultures, he successfully managed to blur the prominent color line that divided all of America up until the 1950s. He did all of this while enthralling the youth of America and singlehandedly caused an idea of teenage rebellion that lasted far past his popularity,

In 1988 he started a band named Nirvana, with their first single “love buzz”. Three years later he was signed to a major label named Greffen, soon after Kurt was being called one of the best songwriters of his

The person I chose to do my project on is Louis Armstrong. I chose Louis Armstrong because I wanted to do my project on a singer as well as a musician. I chose him because he was one of the few people that I knew about, also because I did some research on him and listened to his music and I thought that he was interesting to write about. My main three things that I’m going to discuss about Louis Armstrong will be his life, his music and influence on others. I’m going to describe how and where Louis Armstrong’s grew up and how he started out his career as a trumpeter. I’m also going to write about how he went through life and how that affected him in the future. Lastly, I’m going to discuss with you how he had an influence on others. I’m going to explain how he impacted the world with his music and how that affected so many people to this day. Louis Armstrong made a great impact in the world and I’m going to teach you all about it.

Upchurch The Redneck. Ryan Upchurch isn’t just your typical average person. Upchurch comes from the backwoods of Cheatham County, TN. Upchurch got his start by posting videos of himself ranting about little things on social media such as Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat, Upchurch would rant about anything, from serious things too little things to put a smile on someone's face. He rants about anything, how he feels, what he thinks about things, from the presidential election, to trending things. He would rant about things in a serious, but, yet comedic way. From expressing how he feels through his videos he also makes music. Although he makes ranting videos to express himself, he also makes music to express himself. He basically talks about coming from the backwoods and not having a hand out, how he worked/s for everything he has, what it likes to have start from having nothing, to having everything. He also started his own clothing line on Redneck Nation. Upchurch’s most famous quotes are “Whatcha think ‘bout that, son?” and “Just Gopher It.” or “RHEC”.

The personal Narrative “Music Tonight” by Stephen Policoff is unusual because it is all about the daughter, but written from the father’s perspective. I was at first confused as to who the transformation would happen to, and it seems that both the father and daughter experience transformations within the piece, but because it is told from the father’s point of view we will focus on him being the character. Add to that, the experimentation encouraged at some of the group's first performances at novelist Ken Kesey's
