Hunting
Hunting has been around since before man was even thought of and has evolved ever since. Now only a sport, ounce was a skill used to survive. “Hunting is a natural, ethical, and healthy undertaking” (“History”, par1). Hunting is a way of life without hunting nothing would live that’s why we have a food chain. Herbivores eat plants, carnivores eat herbivores and bigger carnivores eat other carnivores. “Perhaps one of the eldest activities on the face of the planet is hunting” (“History of hunting”, par 1). Hunting has been one of the oldest activities known to mankind. During the first era of hunting men were to learn how to hunt so they could hunt daily and bring food home every night to eat. The women had the roll of

A caliber is the size if the bullet that the gun will shoot. Bows have been around a lot longer than guns, created by the Indians to make hunting easier. A bow works like a type of sling shot to shoot a spear. Making the speed a lot greater than throwing it by hand. There are over a thousand different types of bows and over a million different arrows for bows. When hunting seasons where created so where different types of weapon seasons. This allowed bow hunters to hunt before gun hunters because bows are more difficult to use. So allowing them to hunt first gave
them a better chance at getting an animal. These hunting seasons also allow the animals to breed without becoming extinct. Some of the animals hunted have been taken out of the hunting seasons because of their near extinction.
One of the oldest animals hunted is still hunted today and that is the deer. “Some history experts believe that the whitetail deer went through several population stages in the past 500 years due to the hunting of them” (“Deer Hunting History”, par 2). Whitetail deer offered early era hunters more than just a food value. The deer hides were used for many different items like moccasins, skirts, dresses, leggings, robes, mittens, head-wear, blankets, pouches, bags, archery quivers, straps, and many other things. Like today early hunters were also trophy hunters,
Humans have used hunting and gathering for many years, it did the job to feed family's. As population grew humans evolved and switched to agriculture. Some may argue that “Agriculture came with the gross and sexual inequality, the disease and despotism, that curse our existence.” This causes some to argue that, switching
Hunting is a common activity all around the world, and if performed properly, can have many benefits to us and the rest of the planet. The art of hunting has been around since the beginning of time. Living off of the land used to be a necessity across the world, until the mass production of food came along. In America, people do not usually need to hunt to survive. However, the population of animal species needs to be controlled. Too many of one type of animal can cause a drastic change to any ecosystem. Food supplies decline quickly, leaving many animals without food. Hunting can help keep the population of a group of animals at a good number, making the lives of the other
Hunting is something we've done since we've been on this planet. We used to do it out of necessity, but in the modern world we do it for many other reasons. As technology has increased, we have developed different methods of hunting. These methods have carried over to today, but two have prevailed: bowhunting and rifle hunting. These methods are both hunting--obviously--but they're different in almost every other sense. Bowhunting and rifle hunting are different based on the weapon used, the way you hunt, and your connection with the animal and the land around it; however, the same in the way the respective methods bring people together.
Hunting nowadays is becoming more popular around the world. There are many different types of animals that you can
Hunting was important to the early man. This was how they would find food and the necessities that they needed from animals. In document #1, the cave painting found in Lascaux, France, shows a herd of deer attacking a group of people that have bows and arrows. The painting shows the human figures using the bows and arrows to attack and kill the deer. This evidence may suggest that this group of people are nomadic; meaning they migrate to areas where a food source is available. A quote by Jacob Bronowski’s documentary, The Ascent of Man, in
There are still people today who do hunt as their main source of food. A lot of these people choose to hunt for their own meat vs. buying it because they feel it is fresher. Also, because they know where the food comes from. These people who hunt for their own food also often also use the fur for
Hunting has been around for as long as people have been on this earth and if that were taken away completely some people would lose that sense of nature to hunt. Hunting is people who kill animals for food, clothing, or sport. In 2011 13.7 million people, 6% of the U.S. population 16 years old and older, hunted. Big game like elk, deer and wild
“For some, hunting is a hobby for me it is a passion” by picgran. People should understand hunting because it's been in the world for over centuries. If you love to have your blood pumping with adrenaline you should hunt. Archaeologists have unearthed what could be the earliest evidence of ancient human ancestors hunting and scavenging meat. Animal bones and thousands of stone tools used by ancient hominins suggest that early human ancestors were butchering and scavenging animals at least 2 million years ago.
Hunting is the practice of pursuing wildlife in order to kill it. Individuals who hunt do so for a variety of reasons while wildlife activists oppose hunters’ views and practices. Many people in rural areas of the United States hunt in order to harvest lean, organic, healthy meat for personal consumption. Some individuals hunt because it is tradition and a significant part of their heritage. Others choose to hunt as a means to escape the ins and outs of a chaotic society while taking in the serenity of the great outdoors in a therapeutic manner. Some hunters enjoy hunting for the thrill and the challenge of the chase. Other reasons people hunt include trophy hunting, travel to exotic locations, spending quality time with family and friends, and wildlife conservation. Individuals who are against hunting typically argue that hunting is inhumane and is considered cruelty to animals. Due to the benefits of properly managed ethical hunting, hunting should be legal within the United States.

The problem with the myth that “man the hunter,” is that anthropology such as Raymond Dart, discovered fossils of early man, that completely turned the idea that man was always the hunter on its head. On examination of the fossils he discovered he found evidence, skull damage from large cats and other predators. This completely disproved the idea, that we have always been the hunter and that hunting is something that we have only recently learned to do.
Hunting has been around ever since man has. It used to be the way people survived. Even though we have supermarkets nowadays, and we don't need to hunt to survive, it should still be allowed. I'm not saying that everybody should hunt, I am simply saying that if you want to hunt, you should have that option. Wild game meat tastes better, and it is better for you because it does not have any of the additives you would find in the meat you buy from the supermarket.
In early civilizations hunting was a necessity for human survival, the dead animals would be sometimes worshiped for religion even. Now modern humans no longer have to hunt for survival, because people now have more opportunities for food that the people back then did not have. People who do not have access to a grocery store could possibly grow plants as an alternative to hunting. Hunting should be illegal in New York State, because it is cruel to animals, unnecessary and morally wrong.
People have hunted throughout human history. Why do we hunt? To know what hunting is you must understand it. Hunting requires skill, accuracy and patience. Hunting is seeking, tracking, stalking, or calling a wild animal with the intention, or aim, of killing it. People often ask hunters why they hunt. Most say they hunt for three reasons: Food, to help balance wildlife, and to enjoy the challenge.
Humans have been hunting on this planet for over two million years. Our ancestors used complex hunting techniques to ambush and kill antelopes, gazelles, and other large animals dated back to times before Christ. People all around the world still carry on the tradition, but the view on hunting is not the same as it was back then. The world is so industrialized, and people think hunting is cruel and useless because you can buy meat at grocery stores. But in reality, it is the reason the wildlife they see are not extinct. Harvesting game not only benefits the hunter with the meat, but also the land, the wildlife, and controls the game population; therefore, without it wildlife would starve, and land would not be managed.
