Working in today’s society has changed in the last few decades. The economy and technology are the main reasons for this change. The type of job and environment where one works has also changed. The fact that many people work from home via the internet has drastically changed the workforce and the environment surrounding it. With this change have come new demands, expectations, and opportunities for employers. Everyone deals with these demands differently, affecting the employee’s quality of life and job satisfaction. I would do this by stating that a compensation professional can be a full time employee that knows the company and what the company need, they can be cost effective, and there is a level of commitment. When discussing knowing a company, this also means knowing the customers and the competition. The compensation professional can learn who the customers are, what the needs are of the customer, and even why they actually buy or use the service. With the compensation professional being full time, the employee can do the research needed to find this information. They can also aid in the process of find the ends and out of the competition. This week I have fully grasp the work that goes into being an RN, case manager and what it entails to fully review a patients’ stay at the hospital in order to discharge them in the most effective and efficient way. I understand the need for these professionals in the healthcare field, not only in the hospital setting, but in skilled nursing facilities as well, one reason being is that I believe someone has to advocate and review the patients’ needs before they are sent home. Just like last week I was able to sit in on rounds and observe a great deal of the doctor and case manager dynamic and how important it is for both to know the patient as much possible. As of next week, we will require that all employees at Semper Absum take a mandatory one-hour lunch break away from their desks. After hiring an efficiency expert, we were informed that many employees were not taking a lunch-break and instead were using work time to attend to personal matters. Statistically, employees who do not take a lunch break tend to be less productive during the rest of the day.

Jordan arrived at PAAL and quickly located and interacted with his staff. Jordan was prompted to change into his school clothes. Jordan needed assistance with putting his pants in the correct direction. When arriving to the house, Jordan requested a snack. Staff encouraged Jordan to prepare and eat his breakfast before obtaining a snack. Jordan independently arranged and ate his breakfast. Following his meal, Jordan completed his hygiene. While shaving Jordan needed prompting to keep razor on target areas as well as locating specified areas. When brushing his teeth, Jordan needed prompting to turn his brush and brush the top of his mouth. Jordan again requested and was given a snack.

I would meet with Kate privately so my feedback does not embarrass her in front of her coworkers. I would tell Kate that her performance is exceptional and how valuable she is to the company. After I have given her recognition, I would inform her that I have received customer complaints and the fact that she does not work well with her coworkers proves that it was not a one-time thing. I would tell her about the importance of working well with both the coworkers and the customers. This feedback will include how teamwork and customer satisfaction is important to our organization and without it our company does not perform well. I would allow her to ask for any clarifications. I would stay positive and collaborate with her on finding ways she can improve her behavior. I would end the conversation with acknowledging her capabilities again.
Internship week 5, I chose this week to do my training with Finance department since I know it’s one of the most important departments in any organization. So I started it by attending a meeting that was between the employees from different departments to discuss and to update with each other’s for the coming event “the flag day”. They had to find solutions for the issues they’re facing and give suggestions to improve it. After the meeting the director of finance department asked me to call some suppliers that have to work with the foundations in their big project.
