Why are spreadsheets important?
Spreadsheets are important as they are able to hold and use complex problem solving, they are also a powerful tool that any size businesses may use to store valuable information. However spreadsheets are also compatible to other programs such as PowerPoint and even word. This could be the reason that so many people use spreadsheets on a daily basis.

There are many people that will use spreadsheets from accountants to school children, also sales people will as they are then easily able to keep an eye on their profits/commission.
The main reason accountants use spreadsheets is due to the fact they need are required to keep track of money often large sums of money, they are able to use a spreadsheet to calculate what profits have been made and to also calculate staff wages and any other things that needs to be paid such as expenses for meetings/conferences.

The course, Geographical Informational Systems, required data imputations and to create efficient charts and tables, we utilized Microsoft Excel. GIS was a year-long course and at its end I received a certification of authenticity.
Explain the usefulness of converting data currently held in Microsoft® Excel® spreadsheets into a relational database using Microsoft® Access®.
I do various presentations throughout the organization and within my department, so PowerPoint comes in handy. I use excel for planning purposes, to store data, uncover trends, etc.
There are a lot of differences between spreadsheets and a database system. One of the differences many users noticed is the way the data is organised. For example, if the data is flat, then a spreadsheet is perfect in a way. Another example is if a business wants to keep in touch/tracking their monthly earning over the year, spreadsheet will be the more ideal and perfect way because it was meant to handle lots of data and map the progress of a tiny amount of key points, for example if you are using Microsoft excel you can use CTRL + F to locate a specific name or data information. On the other hand, database systems use a relational data structure. An example would be if a company wants to track down their monthly earnings and compare to their competitors business for the past 3 years, there will be a relationships between data points.
Knowledge of word and excel programmes to use correct layout and presentation when producing documents.
Before spreadsheet was invented, people used to do and solve calculations on a piece of paper or by calculators (they still use calculators even today). Spreadsheet was invented by Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston in 1979. Visual calculator was in fact the first commercial spreadsheet program. After it was invented, it made peoples’ life much easier in terms of doing calculations automatically, speeding up the calculations, lots of calculations are done simultaneously and also saving up peoples’ time. Spreadsheets are so important today because many companies and organisations use a lot of spreadsheet models to manipulate complex data/ problems as it contains accurate data. Manipulation of data can be applied to non-numeric data. It is a
We need accountants because they are trained to handle tough financial situations. They know what investments are wise, what we can afford, and how we can increase our wealth.
The challenge in this situation is that the user wants to use a program that is new to him. I will have to explain to the user the basic functions of Excel to see if those functions match what the user wants to do.
Microsoft Excel can be used to store and retrieve information in the form of tables and charts and filters can be inserted
One skill that I learned while watching the Lynda.com videos was creating functions in tables to help calculate averages, sums, products, etc. Learning how to use mathematic functions through Microsoft Word can not only be helpful but in many cases essential for an accountant to learn. An example of when this skill would be helpful is when I would need to prepare financial data into a word document for a financial report. If I mastered this skill I would be able to input financial data into tables and graphs much faster, which would allow me to spend more time on research and the quality of my work. This tool is also useful because it shows that unlike many accountants in the industry I can prove to my company that I am familiar with technology and that I am efficient. Proving that I am an efficient accountant can be very valuable because many accounting companies especially the “Big Four” look for graduates that have a strong accounting background but that are also technologically adapt. Therefore, it would be in my best interest to expand my
