There are a number of legislations which address the needs of young people leaving care with provisions that are in place to help them through life transitions. The Children and Young Persons Act 2008 focuses on older young people and those who are leaving care. Providing the necessary legislative support to improve the care system in England. Ensuring that stability and continuity in every aspect of a child's care. This act proposed to reform the statutory framework for the care system involving children and young people as much as possible regarding decision making, giving them a voice so that they are heard. Resulting in the improvement of care standards.

Field Training Supervisors are responsible for the administration of the Field Training Program on specifically assigned shifts. The FTS is the leader of the teaching/learning team and will coordinate the training the PCO will receive. The FTS will work closely with the FTO to ensure that the PCO will receive quality training as was as fair, objective evaluations.

I perform group leading roles being a natural leader with high success by delegating responsibility to my colleagues within the group and mentor other new staff by guiding them through Eastway care culture of professional service delivery. I boast an enviable record of success as a team player and supportive member of staff team. I possess advance skills in numeracy and literacy with strong IT application knowledge. This has helped me to handle both service users’ money and company petty cash management properly on budget.

The complexity of the case meant I had to draw on a large range of social work skills to facilitate my engagement with the service user and carers and to complete my recommendations for panel. My Skills strongly developed throughout the process of assessing the service user and carers and they were acknowledged by my practice assessor.

The Social Care Institute for Excellence aims to improve the lives of people who use care services by sharing knowledge about what works. They provide practical resources including learning materials and offer training and consultancy services for people who plan, deliver and use adults, children’s and families services.

Adults working with SEN children spend the majority of their time supporting that child however sometimes it’s the practitioners that needs the support. The role of the practitioners can be hard work and isn’t taken lightly, the practitioner needs support from other people around them to help promote their confidence and provide the correct provision for the children. A helpful support to practitioners could be the charity Mencap. Mencap work in partnership with people with a learning disability and all our services support people to live life as they choose.

Throughout my life I have always strived to support and care for individuals in the best possible way and my aim now is to pursue a career in a profession in which this quality is fundamental. I believe that studying a degree in Health and Social Care will allow me to gain a thorough understanding of the knowledge and skills needed in this area and of the mental and physical needs of different individuals. Studying this subject at A-level has hugely increased my enthusiasm towards caring and safeguarding individuals through a profession and has also encouraged me to continue my studies into higher education. The A-level courses I study have enabled me to attain vast amounts of information that would be useful on this course.

After a successful interview with Liz Sheehan , who is the family support worker in Buds Family Resource Centre. Placement is a mandatory part of my Social Care degree which I am undertaking in the Tralee Insitute of Technology. Buds Family Resource Center was established in 2008 due to government funding. Buds are a community based centre that offers fantastic facilities and programmes to the community of ballyduff. Such as support groups, councillors, after school, creche and preschool care. As part of my experience at Buds I encountered many situations which to all I reacted differently. For example. I have never been in a situation where I worked with a child with cystic fybrosis or a child with autism.
