Do you believe in God? How?
"Nobody likes to be proven wrong and theologians are certainly no exception."
What is your idea when you hear the word "God or gods?" Is God real? Is God not real or merely a product of human weaknesses? In a January 1954 letter to the philosopher Eric Gutkind, Albert Einstein (who called himself “a deeply religious nonbeliever”) described the idea of God as a “product of human weakness.”
Will you agree with this idea or not? Why? God Vs. The Idea of God elaborates the concept of "is God real or not?" The church original focus was on less worldly concerns and claims to speak for all aspects of life in preparation for the kingdom of God. Why does the church is losing its followers? Are all the theologians right in their own opinion of God or gods? Why?

Writing is not his vocation but his avocation because he is concern of the Christian's present status and their role within the society.
Harry's prologue captures my interest especially the title "God and Me, a shaky relationship at best." His experience is a thought-provoking as well as the title in each chapter. I appreciate his elaboration of the Judeo-Christian portrayal and depiction of God. His explanation gives a vivid idea of the Christians in the church today.
Harry's church history will also make the reader understand the background of the church and the way the people of long ago worship gods. They worship gods of the trees, the streams, the storms, the wind, the sun and all other terrestrial events. I understand now that even the ancient people of long ago attributed to the “spirits and gods” beyond their comprehension. There is a part in the human heart that will longed for a
The longing for something to pick you up when you’re at your lowest. This is what the lost generation was wanting during the time of World War I. In the book The Sun Also Rises, Jake Barnes is a man who has fought in the war, and hurt himself disabling him to have to ability to reproduce, causing him to be at a loss with his masculinity and manhood. This has caused him to become a part of the lost generation. He longs for the flapper known as Lady Brett Ashley, but she will not accept him for the man he is due to him not being able to satisfy her own needs. This shows that love is an unattainable aspect for Jake Barnes who longing for Brett to be his.
The question of God’s existence has been pondered by humans for centuries. There are an infinite number of different opinions, arguments, and ideas favoring for or against the idea of God. Personally, I strongly believe in God not only due to my religious affiliation, but also because of my own opinions, ideas, and experience. To begin with, the complexity of Earth and the life that has formed upon it cannot be based just on luck or chance. I believe that ultimately God, as a power, rather than a mystical being is the one created and controls the universe. Although the God and his authority are not entirely comprehensible by humans, it’s our faith as worshiper that eventually lead us to a greater understanding.
In the bible, it says that “Fools say in their hearts, "There is no God” (Psalms 14:1). Anselm's reflection to this has become known as the Ontological Argument. Anselm defines God by saying God is that “which nothing greater can be conceived.” One way to interpret this phrase is to define “God” as maximal perfection, i.e. the greatest possible being. Anselm justifies his argument by using the idea of a painter. When a painter first knows of what it is he or she wants to accomplish, they have it in their understanding but does not yet understand it to exist. They don’t understand it to exist because they have yet to construct their painting. He is trying to say that there is a difference between saying that something actually exists in my mind and saying that I believe that something actually exists. when you hear the word square, you picture a square, or when you hear the word circle, you picture a circle. Anselm argued when humans hear the word God, they think Supreme Being. When I hear the word “God,” I recognize a God that I know from my personal experiences, but I also know that this God of mine is also working through the lives of everyone, not just mine. He has an intimate oneness with all of us, even if we don’t recognize or know it. I don’t think the God I know of is worried about whether people are religious or not. I think this God is interested in exploring experience, through us.
Truth, what is truth? This question itself has a thousand answers, no person can ever be sure of what truth is rather, truth can be justified, it can checked for reliability with strong evidences and logic. If the evidence proves to be accurate then it can be established that a certain answer is the truth. However, have we ever tried to think about what intrigues us to seek the truth? To think about a question and set foot firmly on the path of knowledge. Definitely it has! That was the very cause itself which is why this world has witnessed some of the greatest philosophers like Aristotle, Plato and Socrates etc. along with the school of thought. The ability to think and reason is one of the greatest ability humans have, it is what

Religion varies throughout cultures and is interpreted in many ways; Bradstreet and Edwards differ in their religious views of God. Anne Bradstreet is successfully simplistic and collected when describing God through her eyes. Jonathan Edwards’ outlook on God is expressed through
According to myth, the original “human” being was a union of man and women who were then split into two, and desire is expressed as the longing to be reunited with one’s other half. It is believed that this desire to be whole again is an innate feeling that trumps any sort of physical affection, and

Ancient-Future worship is a fascinating and challenging book because Dr. Webber does a great job making the reader understand that worship is so compartmentalized and fragmented, that we miss the mark when trying to convey God’s narrative. Through Webber’s description of the Creation, Incarnation and Re-Creation I began to understand his passion for the God’s story and why he felt compelled to state and reiterate his thoughts in various ways throughout the book. I appreciate his reflection on how we lost our way because it helped me realize how God’s vision has shifted throughout time and why we need to bring back it.
a) Christians believe many different things about God’s nature; due to the huge spectrum of Christians that there are. However, as a general rule they perceive God as being one of the following four things:
The concept of God’s existence has most likely crossed everyone’s mind once in their lifetime. For some, God is an integral part of their daily lives. Believers live each day devoting themselves to God and appreciating his blessings. On the other hand, others argue that the concept of “God” is nothing more than a figment of people’s imagination due to lack of physical proof of God’s existence. At some point, even some believers have had their doubts regarding God’s existence simply when prayers go unanswered. However, the concept of God is much larger than believing in Him only when things are going well. Awareness does not mean understanding of who God is or what believing in His existence is all about. In this paper, I will argue that God exists and that He is not a figment of our imagination. I will do so by exploring the writings of Dante in The Inferno and Augustine in Confessions.
Whether god exists or not has been in discussion for thousands of years, and an important discussion. Whether it is rational to believe in god or not is another story, like believing in god itself, this topic has brought many discussions. It is one thing to discuss whether god is real or not and it is a complete other to discuss whether it is rational to believe in god or not. I believe that while there may not be any convincing evidence or arguments that God does exist, I do still believe that it is still rational to believe that god does exist. I think this because, believing in God is not simply just believing that he exists, but believing that it can bring good to our lives, we otherwise would not have. It teaches us to have a moral
Descartes presents a very convincing argument for the existence of God. I consider his work is remarkable in the sense that he tries to provide a logical explanation for the existence of God, something that even religious scholars don’t attempt. I believe God exists and I support Descartes’ arguments. Although, it is difficult to tell if Descartes was unbiased in his argument. I wonder if he would have reached the same conclusion if he did not believe in God
The existence of God has been in question for as long as mankind has existed and thought logically. Many questions have plagued the human mind in regards to God, and there have been many arguments drawn with the hopes of proving the existence of a supreme being whom we know as God. The “God” question has been presented to every individual at some point in their lives. It is a topic that will bring forth never-ending questions and an equal amount of attempted answers. Many philosophers have formulated different rationales when examining the topic of God, some of which include how the word itself should be defined, what his role is in human existence, whether or not he loves us, and ultimately, if he even exists at all. Mankind cannot
It is difficult and nearly impossible to say whether or not God can exist because there is a definite lack of knowledge, or limited knowledge, regarding this issue. Most human beings in society have the natural curiosity and burning desire to know if God does or does not exist. But, when it comes to God – the possibilities are endless. He is anything and everything – he is not
