Goal and Long Term Goals

In nursing school, it is important to have written goals to make it easier for us to be accountable for them. One of my S.M.A.R.T goals S: I want to practice at least a hundred NCLEX questions a week. M: I will achieve above 86 on practice exams A: This is attainable by splitting up questions throughout the week R: This will help me better prepare for the NCLEX and broaden my knowledge. T: I want to achieve this goal every week. Another S.M.A.R.T goal is S: I want to practice at least 20 pharmacology based questions a week. Setting goals are the most important thing you can do in your life. Without goals you are going to have no direction, no ambition to be successful, no drive to stay in school, and you would have trouble finding a career that will provide for you. When planning for success you must make good choices on the path you are going to choose. The wrong path will put you somewhere that is going to take you off track of your goals. For example, it can lead you to get lazy, partying too much and skipping school. You must stay on top of schoolwork and not fall behind. One of the proudest moments of my life is graduating with my Bachelor’s degree in social work. In one of the stories called Making Kids Work on Goals, Sue Shellenbarger has evidence of students wanting to achieve their goals at younger ages. “42% of students ages 10 to 18 say they are energetically pursing their goals 35% Strongly believe they can find ways around problems that may arise and 53% say they are hopeful for their future”. In another story called Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams, Randy Pausch talks about how childhood dreams can come true and that it feels even better to help people accomplish their childhood dreams. “And as you get older, you may find that ‘enabling the dreams of others’ is even more fun” Now is it better to have short term or long term goals for a dream job, short term works better because of how long term goals seem to affect people.

I always make a promise to myself if you can achieve this goal set yourself a higher, push yourself harder be smarter, don't stop here god gave you a purpose here on earth either you use it, or you lose it everyday you wake up god gave you another day of life to do things better then you did yesterday. My short-term goal is to have assignments turned in on time. You won’t last very long in a job if you don’t turn in what you have to get done. The steps i'm going to take from now are never procrastinate, or rush to get something done at 3 am. Another step i’m taking is not getting behind on assignments, having something due two weeks ago. And lastly my last step will be having a to do list, assignment book, or agenda. It will keep you very organized and know when things are due. Those are my short-term goals.

By the end of my senior year, my main priority, like any other senior, is to wear my cap and gown, walk across the stage, and receive my high school diploma. To accomplish this goal, I must continue excelling in school with all A’s and maintaining my diligent study skills. I also need to take as many dual enrollment courses at Clayton State University as possible in order to shorten my time in college. After graduating, the next leading goal is to get accepted into either Emory University or University of Georgia, but preferably Emory. I want to be the the “guy” in film industry. When people see or hear my name attached to a film; they’ll know its going to be epic. I want to own my own production company, where we make money, and groundbreaking films. I expect a Hybrid of career advancement, where I will be rising-within, and learning, then making my move towards my own company once I have the capital, friends, and buzz in the industry.

I am a funny and hard working person but, I know when to work and when to play. I want to become a successful business owner. What I mean by that is I want to own many closely related but spread out through the country fast food restaurants and gas stations. I hope to live long like many of my relatives. I am here on this Earth for a reason, to make it a better place, make it more populated, and help the homeless.
