Climate change is a major global issue. Canada is the ninth largest emitter of greenhouse gas that needs to enact on a climate policy [1] (Mildenberger et al. 2016).Greenhouse gas slows down and prevents heat loss in space which increases the temperature of the Earth’s surface leading to global warming. Activities of energy industries, transportation, residential and commercial activities, manufacturing, construction, industrial processes, and agriculture emit greenhouse gases. Rising temperatures are causing melting glaciers, which cause rising oceans. Rising oceans will envelop entire coastal cities, killing or displacing millions of people. Our food sources will dwindle; entire species of animals will become extinct as we destroy their homes to rebuild; and as our population skyrockets, an unimaginable number of humans will be left homeless, starving, and sick.

In the world today, global warming and climate change are one of the main issues with the earth. This issue affects everyone and everything in this world, and even though it seems to be a big problem, most people do not seem to care. Yes, we are superior, but if the whole food chain dies off then being on top of nothing will make humans into nothing.

Another event that would occur from global warming is the drastic rise in sea level. As the Earth warms up, the polar ice caps will start to melt. This would put immense amounts of water into the Earth’s oceans. All cities along all the coasts would be flooded from the rise in sea level. This would cause people to move inland, and with more people inland, it would cause a shortage of space in some areas. With the coastal cities under water, this would cause a great economic strain on the rest of the cities throughout the world. Global Warming would also cause extreme weather.
