In American history,Reconstruction was a very brief event that occurred right after the Civil War. During this time, there would be tremendous amounts of issues spreading throughout the nation, such as when the Confederacy would be allowed into the Union or what would freedmen's do since they were once called property. Reconstruction created many accomplishments that still impacts us today. These are some of the topics that went against or fulfilled the ideas of our Founding Fathers. Our founding fathers had many hopes to our growing nation, but these are some topics that our founding fathers would never improve on. Our founding fathers would appreciate the Freedmen’s Bureau. They would approve the Freedmen’s Bureau because it helped freedmen and poor whites to get all they need such as food, clothing, and an education not only that they would approve how they gave Freedmen’s 40 acres and a mule. They would also like sharecropping because it helped poor freedmen and whites, but they would disapprove on how it was a cycle of poverty. Next, our Founding Fathers would approve on how successful Freedmen’s are getting jobs as Mayors, Sheriffs, and politicians in the Black Parliament. With the saying that “all men are created equal,”our founding fathers would be happy to see Freedmen’s take part in government or jobs to help people. Last, our founding fathers would like to see the 13th,14th, and 15th amendment passed. Our founding fathers would like to see three additions to the constitution to make it even stronger such as the 13th amendment which banned slavery to all states and American territories. The successes that Reconstruction caused improved our country in so many ways. It is also good that Reconstruction had failures to it because from looking back to these mistakes, America can improve and can never repeat them again.
