Explain Why Schools Need To Get Rid Of Sports Essay

Since students already spent a great amount of time on school they should not participate in sports after school . Students should not spend more time on physical activities that are not needed rather than homework that will help with grades in school. Therefore, schools should not have after school sports because it will improve student’s grades, give them more time for homework, and schools will save money.

Everyone knows academics are the main point of school, but athletics have begun to take over and draw away from that focus. Many individuals believe school sports are more important than ever; however, cost is excessive and players often think about upcoming games or matches, detracting attention from homework. Therefore, districts should eliminate after-school sports because they cost tremendous amounts of money, cause academic failure, and are a major distraction.

Districts around the country have sports for students to compete against schools within their own communities; however, some people think that is a problem. It is common for athletes to spend more time on sports than they do on their school work, and this is causing their grades to drop. Therefore, schools should end sports to give students extra time to do homework, include more time for educational activities, and cut the districts expensive budgets.

Numerous studies have shown that kids tend to do better in school without extra curriculum activity. Therefore, schools should not have sports programs to cut district's cost, boost grades, and prevent students from becoming stressed.

“TOUCHDOWN!!” the crowd goes wild as the Huskies score the winning touchdown in the state championship with one second left to go home victorious. The next day everyone says “Wow, great game!” or “Way to go!” or other phrases along these lines to the football players. Now, imagine if this never happened, what if 10 minutes after school ends, all the lights, water, and heat or air conditioning turn off. Everyone goes home, does their homework, and that’s about it. No athletic teams after school due to budget cuts. Instead of running cross country, kids are training for marathons, instead of playing football, 5 star athletes are cooped up studying, and kids have no purpose to wear school logos or attire to cheer on their team.

After school sports is an organization in America that students can attend to, but there are risks, such as, it can lead to expensive medical bills. Because of this, district leaders are deciding whether they should eliminate or keep after school sports. So is after school sports all bad? No, because the amount of benefits outweighs the potential consequences, therefore I suggest that district leaders maintaining after school sports as usual. Also, some benefits of after sports are: reducing and depression, improve academic and occupational outcomes, or strengthen body and mind.
