Explain Why I Want To Be A Dental Hygienist

Over the past two years since I started working as a dental assistant at Kidwell and Albus Dentistry, watching and learning from the doctors, hygienists and assistants as well as helping them. I have realized that there is a lot of joy, and satisfaction when I help the patients improve their dental hygiene and provide the best service possible along with my coworkers. I have gained a lot of experience about what the job entails, the benefits, drawbacks, and ultimately concluded that dental hygienist is the career path that I want to pursuit at this moment in my life, mainly because of three reasons which are professional fulfillment, financial stability, and time flexibility. As I explained before very few career paths allow you to have a person you have never met before entrust you with their health and their well being. It doesn't stop there though, seeing them come back and thanking you just makes you want to become better and keep improving your skills. 97% of the patients we treat in our office are adults with a very active lifestyle that keeps them from taking a break during the day but once they get in our chairs they feel comfortable enough to take a moment and relax. And I know that most of the people out here hate going to the dentist but the environment that I work in is so friendly and welcoming that patients sit in our chairs with a smile on their face, ready to start their dental cleaning. I’ve got to meet a lot of great people in the office and it has given me such a satisfaction seeing them leaving and coming back with a ton of new stories and it’s lovely the way patients have showed us their appreciation.
