The sequence of and the rate of development- The sequence of development means the order that children and young people do things in order to gain their goal. An example of this is when a child is learning to walk they must first learn to stand up and walk along furniture before gaining the confidence to let go and try walking alone. The rate of development is the time frame that children and young people are given to gain the skills and reach their milestones. An example is that children should be able to walk by the time they reach the age of 2.
