Child development is the biological, psychological and emotional changes that occur in individuals between birth and the end of adolescence. (Wiki) Child development is inevitably altered when obstacles such as mental instability and abandonment arise, ultimately affecting children going into adulthood.

Sequence means that there is a definite pattern to a child developing e.g. a toddler being able to walk before they can run (sequence of development would be the order in which the development happens).

Development is often referred to on a timeline and is broken down in ages. As development is more rapid in early years the milestones start by being quite close together before becoming further apart as baby becomes a child and then a young adult.

The aspects of development are defined as Physical, Social & Emotional, Language and Intellectual. There are different stages of development for each category, 0-3 years, 3-7 years, 7-12 years and 12-19 years.

The sequence of development refers to there being a definite pattern to the way a child develops socially, emotionally, physically and cognitively (i.e. a child will walk before they run) which slightly varied for each child. For instance one child may start to try to walk by rolling over first where another may miss this part of the sequence out and go straight to crawling. The rate of development refers to the speed in which children will go through this sequence of development and at what age

Children gain skills and abilities as they grow,the changes in their capabilities and personalaties develop with age. There are many factors which distinguish each child such as diet, stimulation, environment,medical conditions,and illness. But most children generally develop at a similar rate.There are four key area of developmet which are; physical, social and emotional,cognitive(intellectual), and language developmet. Younger children between birth and five generally develop at much more rapid rate in comparison to older children. Growth and development begins at the moment of conception and continues until much later in life. Below i have listed the sequences and rate at which children develop.

A childs development starts from birth, they learn throughout their childhood, growing and developing into adulthood. Their social, physical, intellectual, communication and emotional skills develop and thrive in the correct setting. These aspects of their development are easily remembered by using the mnemonic SPICE. From birth to 3 months old a baby will mostly sleep and eat, but the learning and developing has already begun. When a baby is hungry or needing attention they will cry and at this very early stage consider others as a way of satisfying their needs when it comes to food and drink ect. They start to develop physically with leg kicking, lifting or turning their heads to sound and movement. They become familiar with the faces and
