Explain My Hero Is My Mom

My Michigan hero is my mom, she is one of my biggest inspirations. She somehow raises five kids, is a school director at her work, working on getting her master's degree, is one of two color guard directors, runs back and forth for all of our sports and extracurriculars, and finally somehow still manages to cook dinner and help with homework. She is and has always been my biggest role model and she is always willing to help out and is an all around good person. She even somehow manages to keep the house clean with five kids and two dogs running around all the time going back a forth through it all. She has always encouraged me to do the things I like and try my best even if I don’t like it. She also has supported me and all my siblings in everything we try. She will come to every

One of the most important heroes would be my parents. They have done so many things for me, the’ve gave me food, clothes, and a place to live. I remember that we lived with my three uncles in a trailer because we had no other place to live. I would sleep in a little bed with my mom when I was born, and my dad would sleep in another bed. There were only two rooms so we were really crowded. That is really sad, imagine yourself living with three men that were really gross, like I mean gross. But I was still a happy kid.

My hero is Vesta Colvin, also known as my Mom. She is my chosen hero because she didn't just make sacrifices for me, she's made them for virtually our whole family. Everyone in the world has someone they look up to and want to be just like them one day. Everyone has different opinions about who a true hero is. My personal hero is my dad, David Laetzsch. My dad is my favorite person in the world because he is always there when I need him the most and I don’t know where I would be today without him. As we grow up throughout life, we hold onto many heroes as they have impacted our life. Looking into my personal life, my hero consists of my mother, Darla Linden. She is more than a typical mom because she protects and serves our country everyday, but first makes sure to be up at 6:00am to wake me and my brother up so we can dress, eat breakfast and get to the bus stop. A hero can be at the burning house physically helping put out the fire, down the street putting their life on the line to catch the convict, or in the closest church spreading the word of their religion and how it has affect their life. Everywhere you go you can always find a hero nearby. The one that is like family to me that I consider a hero is my elementary teacher. She is there for anyone at any time. Starting at a young age, she was not always the best or brightest person around. She has told stories of the things that she has done and the trouble that she and her friends use to cause. In her late teens she decided this would not be the type of person that she wanted to be and decided to change the way that she was behaving. She started going to church and found programs that helped her change her way. After a while she started to reach out to her old friends and eventually got a few of them to change with her. After a while of this she decided she needed to help more people and more families and not just the friends and family that she knows best. She started to go to college and became a teacher that way every year she could help out at least another twenty kids and their families. For the past 48 years she has continuously helped out these families year after year. She has also reached out even farther and has helped children out by being a foster parent. Almost every year she would be given a child or two and has had to raise the kid for the year until someone was able to properly give them a home. Many of these children had mental problems from being switched in and out of homes and once she got them she was able to fully understand them and help them out tremendously, then after a couple months they were able to find a permanent home where she would send them and then get her next child. Time after time this was done and she has help more than a dozen children get through this and at the

In 1859 Henry Ward Beecher said, "the mother’s heart is the child’s schoolroom." I believe that statement because of experiences I’ve had with my own mother. I have learned more about life from her than from my 15 years of schooling. Over the last 20 years my mother has taught me many valuable lessons just by being a living example of compassion, thoughtfulness, and generosity. She is an angel that has protected and carried me throughout life.
