The parts of the book that I didn't like were how the author made Mark go through a lot of tough times,for instance,being sick,like I have already mentioned.But then again that is kind of what makes the book interesting.A good thing was that when we found out that Mark is going to climb a mountain,this,like I said before,makes you want to keep reading. Another good part about the book is that the author provides us a bittersweet ending,not a nice happy ending where the characters go to neverland and live happily ever after.

My favorite chapter so far was chapter five because Salamano tells Meursault why he bought his dog in the first place. That story made me so sad it was good to know the backstory. As the overall book, I actually kind of liked it because it was kind of hard to understand because they couldn’t use “I” and I like challenges. They had to use “We” instead of using “I” to explain they self or the story. The book was okay as a whole but still kind of hard to understand I got kind of irritated after a while, while I was reading the book because of the way it was written.

The chapters that describe the characters’ pasts make the reader feel as if they are watching that character’s personality develop over their lifetime even though it is only a couple pages. The most enjoyable part was the chapter over Herman Husband that tells about his entire past and how his beliefs and opinions were influenced. I was able to have a closer connection with this character because there was a lot of information given about him. Also because from the author’s perspective he was portrayed as someone brave and understanding. Which is why when the book ended there was a sadness to it, the readers could feel a sense of emotion for the man in the cell and a stronger effect left behind by his parting words. Another enjoyable moment was when the author described the rebels and how people felt when they finally saw them after they were defeated. It created a very vivid image that explained why the people watching felt a sense of disappointment at seeing them. There was a lot of depth over the characters and how each had their part in influencing the Whiskey Rebellion however Hogeland only briefly talks about the last battle of the Rebellion that led to the rebels being captured and forced to walk for miles. More information could have been added to give the reader a better understanding as to why exactly they may have lost or what led the most to their downfall.

I liked the book because it spoke about the wild and how you should push yourself through whatever your facing. I would recommend this book to anyone that would like to read it. Overall, my favorite part of the book was when he was living out in the wild and survive with just him and the dog, my least favorite part was when Big Darrell was stubborn and wouldn’t do anything with his grandson

I liked that the author leaves the reader to make some conclusions themselves but I thought that the novel was confusing at times because the Blackfoot names for animals were confusing and the author did not provide any major information about what the animals were. The novel was successful in character development, descriptions, dialogue, portraying the characters and developing the story.

Some parts of the book were exciting and I couldn't wait to find out what happened next but other parts did get boring. There is particularly offensive language used in the version that I read so I think that you have to be mature enough to understand why it is being used.

This is a paragraph about my most liked parts and most disliked parts in Call of the Wild. I really liked when Buck took control over Spitz when they were fighting and gained the leadership. I also really liked that Buck was reunited with is wild brother at the end. What I really disliked is that they had John Thornton killed; he could have just went home and left buck in the Klondike for that’s where his heart belonged. I also really disliked that they didn’t have Charlie in the book, even though he was in the movie. And if I could change anything out of the book I would most likely have Spitz come back for revenge because he escaped from the huskies and recovered. I did not like the book The Call Of The Wild because in the first two or three chapters after buck gets adopted by Francois the book repeats itself over and over again. Also every time something that should kill Buck, he breaks through and lives with minor inguries. I liked the book because Buck shone through all the other dogs he was brave, loving, and always did what his master told him too.
