Demographic Forces — companies and people are shifting locations, most recently to the West and South, thus more job openings should be available in these locations. What about other factors, such as the aging of the population and the increasingly higher educated society? Will baby boomers take early retirement or work late into their lives — and who will their decision affect your career path? And as the U.S. becomes more diverse, so does the workplace. Are you prepared to deal with supervisors, co-workers, and other employees who are from a different race, ethnicity, or country-of-origin?
Economic Forces — compensation packages (including both salary and benefits) are increasingly coming under budget scrutiny as companies continue to search for ways to cut the budget. What are the salary and benefits trends in the career path you’ve chosen. What about the boarder economic issues such as

What is the environmental focus of this decade? How will the increased costs of energy, waste management, and pollution affect your ability to succeed in your career?
Technological Forces — probably the most rapidly changing environmental force for all industries. How important is technology in your career choice? Do you have the most current technical skills that employers in your career field are seeking? Do the companies you are targeting have the resources to stay technologically competitive? How can you continually improve your technological skills to both avoid being replaced as well as keep your skills as marketable as possible?
Political Forces — with the apparent meltdown of corporate ethics and fiscal responsibility, how will new legislation regulating business affect your career choice — and the companies you’ve targeted? Will there now again be a trend toward an increased emphasis on ethics and social
Describe a topic, idea, or concept you find so engaging that it makes you lose all track of time. Why does it captivate you? What or who do you turn to when you want to learn more?
Anthropology is defined, in the most basic terms, as the study of other cultures. This field can subsequently be divided into more specific sects, and contain more precise defining characteristics, but this definition is essentially all that is needed. Anthropology is a science that attempts to look at other cultures and draw conclusions to questions that are raised while studying. An anthropologist is someone who accepts what is presented before them and is driven by an urge to understand each presentation as thoroughly as possible. Once the concept of anthropology is accepted, one must identify the means of reaching the goal of this field. In the sect of social anthropology, this vehicle is known as
The predicted antigenic regions were chimerically expressed in a bacterial system. Briefly, two sets of PCR primers were designed according to gD gene sequence available in GenBank (accession number: NC_001847) to amplify gene fragments encoding aa 20-160 (nucleotide 118953~119375, Δ gD1) and aa 257-344 (nucleotide 119664~119927, Δ gD2), respectively. The primers sequences for amplification of Δ gD1(P1 and P2) and Δ gD2 (P3 and P4) were listed in Table. 1.
Our memories often time embellish the memories we once had of such great people, places, times, and etc. We live these times up to standard that makes us reminisce, hurt, contemplate and so much more. The power of a photograph has been described to have worth a thousand words, metaphorically meaning of course, that what an image can capture in one instance, something that may not ever be captured through words. For too many centuries we have been without, what many of us now take for granted, the photograph. What we capture in a picture, has much more value than we often time see in our commercials, people, places, they tell a story to the ignorant, paint a picture for blind, give the deaf something to listen to, and so much more.
Me: As I performed the posture test on myself I already knew that I would have proper posture. Due to the fact that when I was younger, I looked in the mirror and noticed that I had a slouchy posture. I had (Lordosis) and an anterior pelvic tilt, which made me look awful from a side point of view. I wanted to fix my posture and learned that I had weak abdominal muscles and tight hamstrings along with weak gluteus maximus muscles. As I learned how to fix my problem, I began doing exercises for those muscles for flexibility and strength gains. For my exercises in detail I began standing for a long period of time and would flex my gluteus maximus muscles and keep them tight for a period of time to strengthen them which would be for a few minutes. This fixed the slight curve in my lower back. The next step I performed was the same as with my gluteus maximus muscles but for my abs which helped keep a good posture naturally without thinking about my posture deviations and how to fix them. I could now begin to stand naturally with a good posture. The last step I did was stand against a wall with my back and neck flat against the wall and I would press my tongue against the top of my mouth to
Once the song was fully memorized I practiced it with the recording accompaniment. I learned when to come in from the piano intro and how long to wait after the different phrases and sections. There were no dynamics for the voice part, so I added them in where I saw fit based on the phrases and lyrics, and was highly influenced by a recording sung by Cecilia Bartoli at the Berliner Philharmoniker with Daniel Barenboim.

In the film “The Human Family Tree,” the Genographic Project traces the human journey throughout the world, from our origins from Africa. The Genographic Project is a genetic anthropology study. The project’s goal is to map historical human migration patterns by collecting and analyzing DNA samples from people from around the world. In this specific film, with the help of science we can see how people from New York each have their own unique genetic history. To begin with, deep ancestry can be traced, based off of either your mitochondria or y-chromosome. Because women do not have a y-chromosome, it only shows the maternal line of descent when studying their mitochondrial DNA, while for men it shows both maternal and paternal. In the film we
I took a trip to Greek town Casino in Detroit Michigan with my father, this trip was something of an unexpected trip but I figured it was a great place to observe the behaviors of many different cultures as Greek town casino is the home of a multicultural society. I wanted to observe the behaviors of those between African American’s and Caucasian persons. I wanted to see if one race over the other tended to gamble more or if one culture got more aggressive as the night went on.
Participants for this study will be adolescents and young adults ages 13-19. Participants will be chosen using the multistage sampling method. Participants ranging in age 13-17 will be selected on a volunteer basis from local middle and high schools whose parents/caregivers have given consent to participate. Participants ages 18-19 will be randomly selected from volunteers at local colleges and universities. Ideal population would be diverse with participants from all ethnicities and social economic groups. Flyers will be handed out in all classrooms of students in the target population and placed on college and university community bulletin boards. Population sample will be twenty participants in each age group (Borden
I am from a Filipino family, but was raised in Guam, a very culturally and ethnically diverse island in the Western Pacific Ocean. Guam’s culture embraces the pluralist view of Michael Walzer 2004 that it is a place of diverse “ethnic, racial, and religious groups” (p. 635). Historically and culturally Guam has been exposed to many peoples from diverse backgrounds. But white people are usually referred to as “haole,” a Hawaiian term for a caucasian or non-native. There is definitely a culture that portrays “haole’s” as disrespectful, entitled, and ignorant. Despite this, many visitors of the island commend its hospitable and welcoming culture. The only reaction I can expect is that my brothers will be good hosts to my guest. And being in a
The true photographer knows many worlds other than this one. The true photographer is more than just an individual trained to capture images. They, like those creating with clay, ink, paint, or celluloid, are artists of a unique craft.
According to the Government of Indonesia (2004), Indonesian migrant workers are Indonesian citizens who are eligible to work abroad with an employment contract for a set period of time. In Malaysia, over 250,000 Indonesian women are brought to the country to provide domestic services in the private homes of middle-class Malaysians (Killias, 2014). These migrant domestic workers often take up residence with their employers for a minimum contractually defined period of two years (UN Women, 2013). They perform household tasks delegated by their employers, including cleaning the house, cooking family meals and looking after children, the elderly or sick members of the family. This paper discusses, using the occupational rights approach, factors that impact the psychosocial well-being of these transnational domestic workers as a community and briefly proposes
Doing field work in a high risk environment would pose a threat to my safety, this would cause a lot of tension between myself and the people I am studying. Another element that would cause issues for me would be allowing myself emerge into an atmosphere knowing the people I am studying are committing illegal activities that are essentially hurting themselves and others around them. It would be extremely hard for me to turn a blind eye to someone’s “self-destruction” the more I ponder on the thought I realize I am not capable of submitting to the research.
