One person’s American Dream may be totally different from someone else’s, that is what makes us all different, unique and special. The American Dream is a reality and it is something we strive for. It may not be simple to live out, but it is definitely something we can work for. Your dream can change as you grow up, and the more you grow up the more realistic the dream becomes. Scott Fitzgerald. In the novel, Daisy is living her American Dream with Tom. Tom is Daisy's husband, and a very wealthy man. Daisy lives in the moment but doesn't really think too far ahead in life. Tom basically has lived out his American Dream all his life, he has never had to work for anything, because his parents are also rich. His parents take care of him and he gets all his wealth from them. Myrtle, who is another character in the novel, has an American Dream. Her American dream is that she wants to become a girl of the upper class. She wants to be rich like everyone else, but it has not come easy for her. Having an affair with Tom, she acts as if her place is along the rich people. She would do anything for Tom, and because of this, he is her way to the upper class. My American Dream is to live an extraordinary life. Yes, I do have specific things I want when I grow up, but nothing is for sure, because I am still young and growing. I believe the ‘American Dream’ is about creating a better life for yourself, your family and for your children. Societies priorities have changed over time, that is just how the world is. The “American Dream” is a complicated topic to discuss. It has many different meanings depending on who you’re talking to. To me it means to have a healthy and happy family with a nice house and to do what I love to do. For many people their dream or even my dream is not attainable. I do not think that the “American Dream” is attainable for everyone. Some people do not have the perseverance or are not born into a situation where they can get an education. Some people may have that drive or the education or talent needed to accomplish what they want.
Everyone 's idea of The American Dream is to able to be happy and successful through hard work and determination.
Even since the first thirteen colonies seceded from Great Britain in 1776, this land has been a beacon of light and hope for those looking for a fresh start. It did not matter whether they were trying to escape their homeland due to war or if they were just looking to start over, America was their chance to for the freedom to do what they wanted. This is where the “American Dream” arose from. According to Dictionary.com, the American Dream is defined as “The ideal that every U.S. citizen should have an equal opportunity to achieve success and prosperity through hard work, determination, and initiative.” While this definition may be true, I believe that there is much more to it. I believe that the American dream is different for each and every person. Literature is a great medium to see this idea in. The Luck of Roaring Camp by Bret Harte, Chicago by Carl Sandburg, and I Have a Rendezvous with Death by Alan Seeger are all example in literature of how the American dream can vary from person to person and does not have just one rigid definition.
The American dream is achieved by few but sought after by everyone. This perfect lifestyle is what anyone would want. The american dream is not given away or picked up out of nowhere. It has to be made, formed, created, achieved. People dreaming is the closest thing that they do. The power to dream influenced what it meant to be an American by working hard, being successful, and sacrificing.

The American dream, something that everyone strives to achieve. Some work harder than others, some have more resources than others. Some people reach their goals, some fall short. The American dream is something that most people will have a different opinion on. It might be a higher goal for someone than others. It really just depends on what your outlook is on life. Are you optimistic or pessimistic? It’s really up to you.
The American Dream is a happy way of living that can be achieved by anyone that's in the United States with a great job, a nice house, two children and having lots of money. Most of us are living the American Dream because of our ancestors leaving fortunes behind and legends, such as slavery, if it wasn't for slavery we wouldn't be where we are now in history and there would be no American Dream.
To me the American Dream is far-fetched. It's a notation put in peoples’ mind that an individual can achieve anything someone he or she sets his or her mind to do. Call me a pessimist, but “The American Dream” is overrated. When I was little, I aspired to be a princess who lived in a castle with a handsome prince and live happily ever after; I aspired to be this until I was 13. Obviously, I let my dream get the best of me (you will never see me letting my preteen daughter make a fool of herself). I was upset I couldn't be what I wanted to be. There is a huge difference between imagination and dreams.
The American Dream The American Dream is the idea of a perfect life for many people, and has been for decades. Yet unattainable for many, most work toward this idea for a majority of their lives. The American dream is a life that is financially, and emotionally stable, with a residence, source of income, and possibly a vehicle. This objective is unattainable because the few who achieve always thirst for something more, satisfaction is never found.
The American dream is that anyone can start from nothing and turn themselves into something, with the ability achieving their wildest desires.
The American Dream is the idea of someone believing you have to have money, power, and respect to be successful. For example parents that have been through a lot to get money, power, and respect. In the novel, “The Great Gatsby” by, “F. Scott Fitzgerald”, the ultimate message about the American Dream is that you need money, power, and respect to be successful. Fitzgerald shows in many ways why he doesn’t believe in the American Dream by the way he uses literary devices like imagery and metaphors and by the way his characters act. The American Dream has not served Americans well because somewhere along the road something wrong happens to the person’s life or career.
The American Dream is made up of many different aspects and ideas. Like moving up the social , escaping poverty , freedom ,equality , pursuing our interests and passions , opinions and safety. Most of the dreams are different for an individual depending on their situation.
An “American dream” has a different definition for everyone. The dream for most is money and wealth. For others, it is a chance at a new life or a fresh start. Other people believe that the dream is dead, and that it is just a fairy tale. Some people want a big house and a lot of money to just fall from the sky. While others work hard and never give up on the goals and dreams. In my opinion, the dream is what you make it to be. I think working hard and never giving up on your dream has a better chance of happening than waiting for what you want to fall out of the sky
The American dream can be viewed from many points of view weather you are an American or a person that lives in Europe or Australia or any other country in the world. But to me the American dream means that you can do what you want and be whatever you want to be and have any job that you want that is my idea of the American dream.
An "American Dream" is what you would consider a "perfect life." It can be full of happiness, money, love, food, cars, whatever you desire, everyone has a different opinion. My American Dream would be to live in a beautiful house with a big family of 4 kids and a wonderful husband, a job that I love and that makes a good amount of money that will always keep me financial stable to be able to always provide for my family, and being healthy and fit. Something I always think about is my parents, they have the right idea in the type of life they want they just were never able to get there. They’ve always struggled with balance, initiative, and self-love. I see how much they struggle and I just paint this perfect picture in my head of everything they’re not because I have
