5 years from now my career goal that I have set for myself is to graduate from an approved nursing program and pass the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) to become a Registered Nurse (RN). After graduation I hope to be promoted at the hospital I am woking at to start working as a registered nurse

I am pleased to state that I have been a registered nurse for forty years. At this moment, I continue working in nursing while pursuing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. My intended month of completion is October 2012. My experience in nursing education has motivated me to continue my education and pursue a Masters degree in a nursing related field commencing in 2013. Thus, in terms of my career planning, my education is a crucial part to my professional development. Extending and deepening one's education, especially within the career field of one's choice, can only bring upon additional professional opportunities as well as opportunities for personal growth. My career planning includes building upon my decades of experience in obstetrics, my particular area of specialty, expertise, and passion, with the assistance and addition of higher education. I believe in terms of career planning, my strengths include foresight, preparation, internal motivation, and focus.

After going through a lot of trial and error in my career, I have decided that I want to pursue being a Registered Nurse. Many things have led me to this career choice, including personal and financial gain. I have tried many other occupations and educational programs and none of them have fulfilled me like I believe nursing will. It has taken me a long time to get to this point and I often joke that I finally know what I want to be when I grow up. I will tell you about my journey and what I hope to gain in my future.

Are you interested in being a Registered Nurse? To become a Registered Nurse also known as RN it requires education, skills, and interest. For instance, an RN must be able to detect changes in symptoms, health, or pain. Furthermore, a Registered Nurse should have critical thinking skills, communication skills, and organization skills. Anyways, three colleges in San Diego are San Diego State University, School of Nursing, and San Diego City college. An RN that is more experienced has the potential for raises or promotions than a new RN. Every RN is paid differently based on their experience/education. Therefore, RN's handle plenty of tasks and the majority of the registered nurses have a different education so each gets paid different amounts.

In some point in time, during a person’s life they run into the question what do I want to be? They must find a career that they will enjoy or the time that they have spent in class and studying will be in vain. While doing research on the Georgia Career Information Center and from the constant idea throughout my life I have decided that I want to become a registered nurse. The type of work environment, the salary that the job provides and flexibility with work hours are all things that have drawn me to this occupation. I want to specialize in Neonatal. For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to work in the medical field. From performing imaginary check ups on my community of dolls as a child to watching medical television shows, being able to enter the workforce with the skills to start a nursing career has been my most desired goal from a young age. When it comes to achieving that goal, hard work, dedication, and my lifelong passion for pursuing nursing will get me where I need to be in order to successfully complete Davenport University’s Nursing Program.

As a nursing a student, my ultimatum is not to make the most money as possible, it is to obtain the most knowledge as possible. Indeed, nursing school introduced me to a new side of learning and studying, and at often time were quite difficult. Reflectively thinking, it opened a new way of thinking for me. At this point, I have successfully passed my first semester of nursing school, and have accepted the gratitude that I am capable of anything I put my mind to. In other words, my long terms became my short terms. Beginning of nursing school, I limited my goals to successfully passing my classes and becoming a Registered Nurse as my ultimate goal. Now, my short-term goal includes joining the United States Air Force as a 2nd lieutenant, titled Registered Nurse. While my short-term goals may seem intriguing, I feel as if I should utilize my opportunities and advantages even more. Being said that, as a 2nd lieutenant or any progressing rank, I plan to future my education and purse to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.

As a young Puerto Rican, I always wanted to be a nurse or a doctor. This is because I have always had a caring heart and I enjoyed to take care of everyone. My educational goal is to get a Doctorate degree in Nursing. Furthermore, to reach that goal I have to start working on my Associate Degree. Therefore, my first educational goal is to begin and complete my associate degree. My career Goal after graduation is working as an RN in the Sarah Todd Nursing Home; the nursing home which I currently work at as a CNA. Being a CNA allows me to reach out and help people. Continuing my education would increase the amount of care that I can provide.

To begin with, I am currently going to East Valley Institute of Technology to become a certified medical assistant. After my senior year I will continue my schooling in order to go into the health care. I will do this by continuing to go to Mesa Community College were I will finish to get my associates in applied science of nurse. When I have finished that I will transfer to the university of Arizona to become part of their nursing program, at the same time work on getting my bachelor's and master's degree. After persuing your career as a Registered Nurse, dramatic changes will be very noticable in your life. You will find yourself doing things you'd never thought you'd do, and also seeing a variety of things you never imagined seeing. Being in the career path as such, can bring on a healthier, yet less stressful lifestyle. Becoming a Registered Nurse would be a life changer. Although majoring in nursing will not be easy, I feel I am prepared for the challenge. At this time in my life I cannot see myself majoring in anything else. As a young girl, with a mother working in the medical field, I was always fascinated going to work with her. Working in a doctor’s office these past two and a half years myself has given me much experience with patients and has made it more to clear to me that this is what I want to pursue as a career. I wish to be a nurse because I seem to get a feeling of warmth and internal satisfaction when helping those in need. I have begun to learn that medicine is not the only cure for people’s ailments. It is the care they receive by those around them whether it is in a hospital, nursing home, or even their own home. This is where I believe that I can make a great difference in people 's lives by helping them recover.

In conclusion, nursing is my passion and my main goal is to become not only a nurse but a doctor, so I can not only save lives but keep people healthy and happy. I have many duties and responsibilities as a nurse, but the pay is pretty though. My focus right now is to continue working on getting my licenses and certifications then working my way up to the top. The field of nursing is both a science and an art. New nurses graduate with, at least, acceptable basic competence. They are expected to have the ability to effectively communicate and make decisions in a complex environment with multiple demands on their practical comprehension.
