Anne and her family has very hard lives during the Holocaust. They treat you so poorly in the concentration camps. The fact that they hid for a very long time instead of registering, made them prisoners so they were treated even worse.

Among the on million of the children killed was Anne Frank. Anne was a Jewish, teenage, girl who's family went into hiding. They stayed hidden for over two years in their Secret Annex. Over the course of these two years, she kept a dairy that has now been published. Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl had been translated into over 60 languages and is read and studdied world-wide. She began the dairy at age thirteen and wrote her last entree at age fifteen. The majority of her diary talks about her time spent in the Secret Annex which was the back part of a spice warehouse owned by her father previous to the Neurenburg Race Laws. The Franks lived with another family, the Van Dann's, and another man named Dussel. On August 4, 1944 German officers stormed the Annex and arrested all families. They were then taken to a transfer camp called Westerbork. They spent roughly one month there before being moved to Auschwitz, a consentration camp. Once off the train men, women, and childern were all separated. That was the last time Anne saw her Father, Mr. Van Dann, Dussel, or Peter. This is when the dehumanization began. People working the camps strped them of glasses, jewlery, shoes, and anything else that made them a individual. Born in Poland, Henia Weit was the youngest of nine children in her family. She lived in a town by the name of Sambor. Unfortunately, the town was bombarded by German soldiers shortly after Hitler started his reign of terror on the Jews. Henia’s family was forced to do laborious work in a ghetto until they were all deported to a concentration camp. Fortunately for Henia, she was able to escape and never went to the concentration camp herself. Instead, she had to survive for several years alone, with only her sister to turn to.

In 1939, Germany began to invade a few countries, and in 1940, the Tripartite Pact, unifying Germany, Japan, and Italy, was signed. Also in 1940, Holland was invaded, which is where the inspirational story of Anne Frank comes in. Though only one of over 1.5 million children killed during the Holocaust, her story is one that we can all relate to. She is the same age as many of the students that should be taught about the Holocaust, and her age is not her only aspect that we can relate to. Over 30 million copies have been sold, and she has touched the lives of millions of poeple by teaching us the sheer terror they wer licing in, the isolation, and the desperate longing for the war to be over.

A nonfiction book, otherwise known as The Hiding Place, a story describing Corrie Ten Boom’s perspective of her journey that she took during World War II. The author uses diction, syntax, imagery, and tone to elaborate and describe what is going on in the book, as well as it gives personal thoughts to have a closer relationship with the reader. Diction can make a big difference in the book.

Gerda was 15 when she was moved into a ghetto called the Bielsko ghetto in 1939 ,September 1. Gerda had an older brother who was 19. But that changed when young men 16 and up had to sign up for the army. Now it was just Gerda and her parents. Then german fighter planes appeared overhead, causing people to flee the city. Her family remanded in the town. In the morning, she heard intense shouting and saw Nazi’s on motorcycles shouting “Heil Hitler”. One day women and men were separated and asked to be put in lines. Gerda was in the line with her mother and a guard asked her how old she was and she said, “18”. Then she was put in a truck a shouting at her mother to ask where she was going and her mother said she didn’t know. Gerda jumped out of the truck but a SS officer caught her and said to her that she was too young to die. Then she knew that her mother was going to die. After Gerda being moved into the ghetto she was deported in 1942 to work in a factory in Bolkenhain, Silesia. Besides the of all the labor and hunger there was caring caring between the inmates. A German supervisor, Mrs. Kugler, saved Gerda’s life because when Gerda got sick and the SS men had to inspected her to see if she should continue working or die. Mrs. Kugler helped her pass the Inspection by just letting her work and then rest again. She was moved to a camp called Marzdorf and spent three years there. It
