Dream killers
You know the type, the ones who think that just because they did not make it, then you can 't, the Debbie Downers who can 't see beyond their pathetic existence to dream of something bigger. The one who will never achieve much because they fail to dream and dream to fail, these are the dream killers.

You "I am thinking of starting my own business"
Them "Why you want to do that?"
You "Because I have always wanted to work for myself?
Them "It will fail in this neighborhood."
You "Not if I set up the right way, hey let start it together."
Them "We have no money to start a business."
You "There are small business loans or grants we could apply for."

You: "Well?"
Them: "Oh my God that is really good, where did you learn to write like that.?"
You: "I believe God inspires me. I will wake up late at night and start writing, Two hours later I would have completed several short stories without Stopping.”
Them: "Wow!"
Still having that incredulous look on their face as if they still had doubts that I could have written something so good.
You: "Still don 't believe I wrote it."
Them: "No I believe you, but how are you going to get this published, it can get really expensive, plus people write all the time and never get their book published.”
You: "Don’t worry about that, God gave me the gift, he will find the funding."
Them: "Have you thought of copyrights, someone can steal your idea and you And would have no legal leg to stand on.”
You: "I am way ahead of you on that Hun."
Them: "Well....good luck to you, you gonna need it, since most books fail to make it to a single reader.”
You: "Luck has nothing to do with this, nothing that is worth having is going To be easy to obtain.”
Having a dream and living with passion is very important because I believe living without passion is like being dead. Someone like Tony Hawk could agree. Tony Hawk has been a professional skateboarder for over 24 years. However, he did not receive that title overnight; Tony got his first skateboard when he was only 9 years old. Since then, Tony worked extremely hard and put a lot of his focus on skateboarding. He did it because that was his Dream. Tony’s Dream was frowned upon by many of his teachers and adults alike. One of his teachers even told him that he “would never make it in the workplace if he didn’t follow directions exactly” (Hawk), but he never gave up his Dream. He kept working hard and eventually became a pro at the young age of 15.
In The Crossover written by Kwame Alexander, there are many themes that readers can find in the novel. One of the themes is that dream is very important for one to live a better life. This is also the theme in the poem Dreams written by Langston Hughes. Having one’s own dream is very important because the process of achieving the dream is more of value than the result itself.
For example, when my grandmother was young, she used to dream about being surrounded by a loving family. She was an orphan. She often tells me stories about how she would lie awake at night dreaming about just that. Many kids in her orphanage used to tell her that none of them were ever going to have a life like that “Why would we?” they said, “can you not see not even our parents wanted us!” Despite all the harsh words, she kept on dreaming and overcame all her obstacles and has reached her goal. Even though your goals might seem impossible, if you dream big you might get just that.
Dreams have many meanings some come in various different forms. Some dreams have very deep meanings while others are just simply a product of your imagination. For example some people experience Deja Vu. Deja Vu is when you have a dream of something and then it comes to life. People who have had Deja Vu have been very surprised. A dream is a product of your imagination some are just entertaining while others might be viewed as life lessons. Some dreams have deeper meanings into them, you just have to look for them. For example some people have been having dreams of going to a certain place then the next morning they end up in the same exact place. When you arrive at the place you will have a certain feeling like you have been here before then you will remember that your dreamed about it. Dreams have so much to to do with your imagination but some are no product of your imagination but a product of reality. Dreams have many meanings they might be good, bad, and scary ,whatever they are they are still a product of you. Likewise In Bless Me Ultima by Rudolfo Anaya, Antonio’s dreams, thoughts, and actions help identify who he is and what he is meant to be . There are several examples of Antonio finding
Many people have a wish or lust of a better life than they have. It can range from more money to more power. These wishes could perhaps become true, but many of them only stay a figment of imagination and only a hope of something out of reach. Many people can let these wishes keep them on a path of success to try to achieve that wish or crumble in defeat over the thought that nothing can ever become better than the life they have now. Many of the people that have these wishes could be thinking of a better life in their everyday tasks that they have and think of the better things that they could be doing or the better things they could have in their life. Even though people understand that many of the wishes are out of reach they still have them to keep them going in the life that was given to
“Failure is the condiment that gives success its flavor.” This was said by American author Truman Capote (PBS). Capote knows this for he has achieved extreme success and also his share of utter failure. In his fifty nine years of life, Truman Capote was very successful as an American novelist, short-story writer, and playwright despite having to move around a lot as a child due to his parents’ divorce, his homosexuality, and dealing with harsh criticisms from the world toward the end of his life. Originally born as Truman Streckfus Persons, Truman Capote changed his last name to his stepfather’s (EncycopaediaBritannica).
The article “In the Dreamscape of Nightmares, Clues to Why We Dream at All”, written by Natalie Angier, introduces various types of insight on nightmares and the reasons behind why they occur. Nightmares are dreams, able to jolt you awake. Although few suffer from nightmares so terrifying that help is sought, dreams are a universal human experience. A majority of our dreamlike states are spent negatively. As a result, numerous people have studied dreams and discovered that there may be reasons behind the existence of nightmares and dreams overall.
When I was in high school, I was surrounded by beautifully stoic Christians who’d held their faith through homelessness and trials that I can hardly imagine. So I prayed for God to challenge me to become stronger in faith. Not a month later, my family announced that we were moving to Japan.
What are dreams? Some would say they are imaginations and fantasies, whereas others would claim dreams to be their aspirations, desires, and hopes, something they want to achieve someday. Aerosmith uses the latter group’s meaning of dreams in their song “Dream On”. The song exposes how one spends their whole life reaching the goals and wants that may never be all fulfilled, but continues to dream and hope, corresponding with the difficulties the band itself faced during the start of their career and how they kept trying to get to the top.
There are thousands of people every year that try and fail. Why would they choose you out of all
Just about everybody has a dream they would like to achieve. However, many people end up never accomplishing them, despite working hard towards them. Stories like “The Necklace” by Guy de Maupassant, “Only Daughter” by Sandra Cisneros, and “The Joy Luck Club” by Amy Tan, are about people who had aspirations they longed for but didn’t always fulfill. Mathilde and Mother had more impractical and unobtainable dreams than Cisneros because Mother was too starry-eyed, Mathilde was stuck in pauperism, and Cisneros’ dream was simple and more achievable.
Dreams appear to have a universal language. In ancient societies, dreaming was viewed as some kind of supernatural communication. Dreams are fascinating mysteries. To begin the discussion of dreams it is important to make the statement that dreams can be considered an extension of consciousness. In other words, dreams can be a way the brain organizes and analyzes the day to day events during sleep. Every one dreams however, not everyone remembers their dreams. Freud believed that our dreams are buried unconscious emotions and as we sleep our mind releases these emotions in the form of dreams. He also theorized that our dreams are ways in which we act out our suppressed desires. The Interpretation of Dreams, written by Sigmund Freud, is
Like my old friend Morgan who I had knew for a while. I always had a feeling that he would succeed have great accomplishments because he had always been one of the smartest kids in school, boy I never been more wrong in my entire life. Morgan had become a Toys R Us bathroom attendant who had to compliment people, offer soap and towels, and unclog toilets. Although Morgan did have a pretty nice Mansion in South Colorado. The only problem with that would be the he lives with grandmother and four birds. He also owns
“Teachers won’t be able to read what you write if you don’t make your handwriting more neater” I heard this statement almost every time I brought homework home or a test; or anything that involved me putting more than my name on a piece of paper; back to my house. For someone only in first grade that was a lot to have to worry about knowing that my handwriting was so bad that my teachers, my mother, AND I couldn’t understand it. To make matters worse my teacher was in the process of teaching all of us to read and write in cursive so that wasn’t going to make my writing more coherent or understandable. I would have to say with no doubt in my mind that i hated writing in first grade hell i hated writing all through elementary school
Once, there was a girl name Gabby. She had a beautiful voice. She wanted to sing in front of everybody. That was her dream. Her parents wouldn’t let her. Gabby was so sad.
