Does America Still Provide The American Dream?

Is the America still provide access to the American Dream. American Dream is the ideals of freedom, equality, and opportunity traditionally held to be available to every American. I think it still provide access to the American Dream because I think it has many kind of American Dream has now.

"I think the American Dream says that anything can happen if you work hard enough at it and are persistent, and have some ability. The sky is the limit to what you can build, and what can happen to you and your family" expressed Sanford I. Weill. The American Dream is still alive and obtainable. Many people have a definition of what the American Dream that is obtainable in their minds. People all have unique individual lives.

The American dream can be one of the most possible things to have EVER been possible. Us as people must realize what we can work with. We can eventually become one of the world’s greatest countries to live in. If anything, we are already acceding a point in potential to became THE greatest county to ever live in. We have some amazing people that can do some amazing stuff for our country. Other countries might be thinking the same exact thing for their country, but I strongly think that anyone can do anything in the USA. So much opportunities to take in this country, but us humans are being put down for our hopes and dreams by other people. As citizens of America, we all work towards acquiring one thing: The American Dream. The American Dream is something that most citizens of America try their hardest to attain at least some point in their life time. This dream may include but is not limited to, wanting to reach a certain social class, having a safe country with strong military forces, and also wanting to “fit in”, or to find his or her’s place in life. Also, this dream may or may not look similar to the American dream you want to inquire. While most of us desire to attain most of the things listed above, some of us always dream of having a nation where the color of your skin and social standards do not define who you are as a person. However, while citizens may want these things, not all of America may agree with each other. A question that has merged into our minds is, “ is the American dream attainable?”

In the United States of America, children and students learn that we are a nation of “freedom” and that our homeland is the “land of opportunity.” While the rest of the world can’t say the same, America is different in this regard. This teaching aspect raises the question that do Americans truly have freedom or liberty to have the opportunity to choose our destiny? The freedom and opportunity to have the right of attending school, college, having a job or career, or even deciding what we want to do with our life revolves around our choices. The illusion that Americans are truly “free” or the idea that we have the “opportunity” to do whatever we choose is just a false belief blockaded by the advancements of society.

Many years ago today, the United States of America was the prime example of prosperity and opportunity. It established America with the idea that its citizens would be guaranteed life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Today, it is true that people have liberties and are free to pursue happiness. However, in recent years, in the worst recession since the Great Depression. Unemployment, growing economy inequality, and medical care have skyrocketed. Despite the odds, the American Dream is still a goal that many people strive for and hope to reach. In fact, an essay written by Brandon King, The American Dream: Dead, Alive or on Hold? He says, “the American dream is a dream in which life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with the opportunity for each according to his/her ability and achievement…” (King 610-611). Therefore, the problem with the American Dream lies not within the dream itself, but within the means people pursue to attain this dream.

The common question that is asked is, Is the American Dream still reachable in today’s world? Immigrants come from all over to try to achieve the American dream and leave behind a better life for their children. If you were to ask someone what they believe the american dream is, They would most likely say the American Dream is to have a nice job and nice house and provide for their family. The American Dream is the idea that every U.S. citizen should have an equal opportunity to achieve success and prosperity through hard work, determination, and initiative. The American Dream is still achievable for most people today because if Americans strive for your own pursuit of happiness and continue to go toward your dream then you can achieve the American Dream but also for some people the American Dream may not be achievable due to job scarcity or

First, in realizing equal opportunity and narrowing the wealth gap education is the major challenge to overcome. The reasons for the gap might be family matters or structure, educational background, talents, innovation, technology, technical skills and the like. An article entitled, “Does Anyone Believe in the American Dream Anymore? “states that:

The American Dream is a common stock story that us Americans are used to hearing as inspiration. “If you just put in enough effort and try a little harder you too can achieve the American Dream”- every politician ever, if this were true then why hasn’t everyone pulled themselves up by their bootstraps and made this so called dream happen? Is it that they are too lazy? Or is the American Dream not their individual dream? Or the most controversial question of all: is the American Dream just a hoax? I think that all three are plausible answers, that yes some Americans are just too lazy, some Americans don’t even want the same dream as the “American Dream” and yes the American Dream can be a hoax. The reason as to why the American Dream can be viewed as a hoax is due to the simple fact that some people are granted different advantages than others. In my opinion it all starts in the schools and the resources that they grant their students.

Is the American dream a false reality? In Lorraine Hansberrys book A Raison in the Sun, we experienced the dreams of the charactors. As we bounce around from charactor to charactor, we learn that their dreams can be attainable and realistic. We also learned what can help nurture a dream as well as what can impede a dream.

The American Dream is still true today. This country exists because of the American Dream, people from the start of this country up until now came and come here to experience freedom which gives the opportunities to attain the American Dream. With all the freedoms we have and all things available to us, like free public education, plenty of food and lots of opportunities to gain higher education. One thing that is important though is the fact you still must work hard, otherwise you cannot better yourself. Hard work enables you to gain and move forward to attain the American Dream.

Is the American dream still alive today? Many people's view towards this ongoing topic infers an improbable answer compared to previous years. Although many Americans argue that there is no American dream, I suggest that the American dream is improbable and cannot be achieved due to economic classes and poor infrastructure in helping the non-rich.

Is the American Dream real or just a fantasy? The American Dream is there for everyone, it’s up to the people to make it real for their lives or to just let it die. Many people have let their American Dream die, but another hand full of people still fight to keep the American Dream alive. There are many supporting evidence such as the Bill Of Rights, Declaration Of Independence, Freedom Of Expression and many more.

Do you believe in the American Dream? Is it still alive? Or just a memory from the past? The American dream is not as clearly defined as it seems and with time it has changed a great deal. Therefore, there is not a clear answer to these questions, but opinions of how the American Dream is contributing to society’s aspects.

In my opinion yes there is an American dream. Many people may disagree with me, but also many will agree. Some may say is it worth it to think about it and try to achieve that dream. Our Countries history makes it possible to be able to have an American dream. Our ancestors have made it possible by all of the wars and keeping the country together and safe. So the question is... Do you want to be apart of the American dream?
