A career in Dental Health Care will allow me to use my hands for service and literally bring smiles to people’s faces. My initial exposure to the dental profession as a potential career path was during my work experience at Wimborne Dental Practice. Here I learnt the real degree to which dentistry is a vocation, improving the quality of people's lives as well as being a 'hands-on ' profession, making it the career for me. I have always enjoyed helping and caring for others; for the last six months I have been volunteering at a care home where I help to plan and organise activities for the residents. This opportunity has helped me to recognise the great gratification that comes from working in a caring profession. Furthermore, because of my very keen interest in Dental profession I specifically chose to study Biology at A-Level alongside Health and Social Care and …show more content…
I have also obtained First Aid qualification and helped raise funds for an HIV support centre and completed thirty hours of volunteering. As an employee for Anglian (a home improvements company) I have learned how to adapt to new situations and work with a variety of people. During my summer job at Sports Direct, I learnt how to keep a professional attitude and show patience in difficult situations. My love for the NHS and desire to give back to my community drew me to attending an NHS information careers day and I decided to join the Foundation Trust. I have I also volunteered as a waitress at the Volunteer Reception of the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS foundation trust and taken part in the stakeholder event. I currently conduct patient surveys, which involves conversing with patients to better understanding their thoughts and feelings to empathise with them. I am also currently doing further training to be part of Patient

My life was driven around the social trends without thinking of what I really wanted. Now I have chances to pursue my aspirations; I have idea of doing something that I can help people, devolve my life to society. In my country, the science and technology is not modern enough to provide residents the best knowledge about the importance of oral hygiene. Those students like me can appropriate the most modern technologies to help our people. It is so amazing that Dental Hygienists can provide valuable services whereas building the trustworthy connections with patients. As a result, I chose dental hygiene as the foundation for my health profession since.

If my greatest aspirations are to provide pain relief, to develop patient rapport, and utilize creativity in working with my hands, then dentistry is, indeed, my

I am writing to express interest in working with Sunrise Dental as a dental hygienist. I believe my skills, hard work ethics, and passion for preventive oral care will make me an asset to your team.
I even knew that a person could become a doctor of tooth care or someone who helps such a doctor like my aunt. But I wasn’t that special and was like everyone else as a child who wanted to become many things when they “grew up” like an inventor or an underwater scientist. It only makes sense then that I grew serious about my career choice during the last year of middle school because those years were full of big decisions. My fascination of teeth made me turn my desires to the health field, specifically to dental care because it combined my need to help others with the love of
"Caring for others" and "Health is wealth" are few of the most incredible things I was taught since childhood. I have been quite fortunate to grow up in a joint family, where I learned virtues and importance of serving others. At age of 15, I was inspired to become a caretaker of my grandfather, who was suffering from chronic illness. He always wanted me to become a healthcare worker, but he passed away after unbearable suffering before he could see me fulfilling his dream. Also recently my mother has been diagnosed with few serious health issues including high cholesterol and blood pressure.
Theoretically, it takes ten thousand hours of deliberate practice to become an expert in any field. I intend on not only dedicating approximately nine hours a day for the three years, that I hope to spend at Newcastle University, but the rest of my working life in the dental industry. I have researched and shadowed a dental hygienist therapist and I firmly believe they are an invaluable asset to the dental care team. I would thrive from the independence and clinical freedom to work, within the scope of practice, on a one to one level with patients. I believe I can make a difference, particularly building the confidence of sporadic and nervous attendees adhering to a holistic and preventative approach.
I feel that one way to contribute would be to become a good representation of what NHS strives to be, to grow my character and help others more. I would also try to spread the word of
Throughout my life people have commented that I should be in a profession that worked with people. Upon completing high school, I was not certain exactly what I wanted to do. I was interested in working with people but I determined that my dislike for blood and other unpleasant things dissuaded me from those type of careers. I chose Engineering as I though my interest in math and science would be a good fit. I found that what I enjoyed most were the projects, labs and working as a team. It was missing the direct involvement of helping people. I had often thought of dental hygiene as I enjoyed my visits to the dentist office and we have family friends that are both dentists and dental hygienists. I started to research what other options
My passion is to care for the health of a smile. Although my ideas towards Dental Hygiene have changed in the last two years, I still adore the profession I have chosen. Though I love hygiene, I was unaware how physically demanding it was upon the whole body. I have significantly more respect for experienced hygienists, as it is a skill that truly improves with time. The areas I’m more interested in specializing in would be pediatrics and periodontics. I enjoy interacting with children, but also feel that maybe it wouldn’t challenge the application of my clinical skills enough. However I would not mind working part time in a pediatric office. Whereas with periodontics, I love the challenge, the biochemical interaction and physiological response of the human body involved in treatment, with each
tement My passion for to study Dental Hygiene and Therapy has developed over the past few years, where I trained as a dental nurse and supported the dental professionals, which piqued my interest in dentistry and the education around it. I am conscious of the importance of the hygienist’s role in maintaining patient’s dental health and ensuring that that the oral conditions are attended too. The hygienists job is mainly to prevent disease though advice, therapy and treatment; professionals and patients can usually see the immediate difference after a few visits and from this treatment, patient’s wellbeing and health can also be improved from the actions of a hygienist.
When I finish the dental cleanliness program at Cape Fear, I need to utilize the contacts I'm making in the dental field to discover a position with a neighborhood private practice. I am likewise open to filling in as a floater in different workplaces until I can secure a perpetual position in a practice that is a solid match for me. Since dental hygienists are among the quickest developing occupations, I feel certain that I will discover an occupation after I complete school and acquire my
My interests in the dental field was not inherited, rather built upon research as well as being significantly influenced by the two-week work experience I undertook at The Care Dental
For this last reflection, I will be summarizing my entire internship experience. I will be addressing a wide array of topics in this reflection starting with what this internship has taught me about my strengths and weakness in health-related situations and communication within health settings. This topic will also include what I have learned about myself. Next, I will convey one thing I learned at Comfort Dental that I would never have learned in the classroom. Next, I will discuss how working at a dental office as reaffirmed my choice of choosing to be a dentist as a professional career. Then, I will convey how I will answer questions in an interview asking about how this internship prepared me for my future and how being a Health Administration and policy major has prepared me for a future in dental care. Next, I will discuss the most, challenging and the best aspect of my internship. Lastly, I will convey the one “golden nugget” I will take away for this internship that will be useful in my future.
A major in Public Health Science gave me an insight into the hardships that people in underserved countries go through on a daily basis, which motivated me to assist them the best way I knew how. In March 2014, I attended a service trip with Global Dental Brigades to Tegucigalpa,
