1. Introduction:
As discussed in my proposal, database plays a crucial role in day-to-day life by acting as a repository for all the transactions that take place in the world of internet. Electronic commerce or E-commerce as it is popularly called is increasingly becoming one of the most popular choices among the public across the globe

Some of the most crucial ones are listed below:
a. Type of Data: A data could be broadly classified in to three types viz. structured data, unstructured data and semi-structured data. Structured data are those which reside in a fixed field within a record or a file such as customer’s name, address, phone number etc. Unstructured data refers to information that is not organized in a pre-defined manner. Examples of Unstructured model include images, videos, word presentations etc. It is estimated that unstructured data occupies almost 80% of all available data in organizations. Semi-structured data are those that do not have a strict data model. For example, an email contains both structured data such as sender’s name, recipient’s name and subject and also unstructured portion such as attachments and body of the letter. (http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/S/structured_data.html).In an integrated, 3-tier architecture such data are handled by XML as data traverses through various layers via an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB).Thus, choosing a database requires the type of data to be taken in to consideration .
b. Data evolution: In large databases, data residing in the tables may change considerably over time .Some popular examples include
Database tools and technologies affected the business processes and decision making by a great extent. The most important benefit of the database is to change unstructured information into structured information, and allow users to analysis the data stored into different tables with the help of queries. Before database, all the information used to stored into paper and other unstructured computer programs, due to which getting required information process was very slow. Due to database, all the
Data objects can model relational data or advanced data types such as graphics, movies, and audio. Smalltalk, C++, Java, and others are objects used in object-oriented data. The object-relational is a combination of relational and object-oriented databases. Traditional and advanced data types can be used to construct database management systems. These systems can connect to a company’s website and update records as needed. Database Approach The main purpose of a database is data storage that can be stored and retrieved when needed. A popular common language called structured query language (SQL) is used to store and retrieve data in relational database. This language enables the systems to run a report or modify data or remove the data from the database. A database management system (DBMS) controls all aspects of a database, this is not limited to the creation, maintenance, and use of database. The DBMS ensures proper applications are able to access the database. An important purpose of a DBMS is to maintain the data definitions (data dictionary) for all the data elements in the database. It also enforces data integrity and security measures. Data Models Data models provide a contextual framework and graphical representation that aid in the definition of data elements. In a relational database, the data model lays the foundation for the database and identifies important entities,
Databases today are essential to every business. Whenever you visit a major Web site – Google, Yahoo!, Amazon.com, or thousands of smaller sites that provide information – there is a database behind the scenes serving up the information you request (Hector, Ullman, & Widom 2008). Database systems are becoming as common in the workplace as the essential one that it can easily be searched, categorized and recalled in different means that can be easily read and understood by the end user.
All of the examples above are ways a database can keep, retrieve, send and look for a precise data to another piece if the database system. Attributes have a big role in any database as makes the storage of information held stronger.
Data is information that is stored and organized by fields and records. A field which can also be known as an attribute is a single unit of information, like a surname of an IBM employee. A record or tuple is a collection of related fields. For example, an employee record contains all information fields that are relevant to a specific IBM employee. Additionally, a file (also known as a table) has multiple records that are pertaining to a specific topic. “To signify, an employee file of a hotel contains all employee records (Rob, 2010). Lastly, a database comprises all related files. A hotel database, among others, consists of employee files, room files, customer files, and payment files.”
Databases allow us to easily store and retrieve data in a purely digital format. The strength of this is that large amounts of data can be stored and retrieved with minimal effort on the part of the user. Opposed to manually flipping through files, one can quickly pull up the requested data through a computer program. Many systems that were conventionally paper and file based have been converted to a digital format which are now stored in one or more databases.
Database System is one of the most important concern in the field of Informational technology. It contains the most reliable
Database marketing assist marketers to record actual purchase behaviours of customers and hence help them monitor and tailor their promotions towards the customer’s interests. Also on the internet a customer is
Databases are used widely in our life. Because of databases, vast amounts of data have become easier to use and manage. Government, finance, operators, public security, energy, taxation, business, social security, transportation, health, education,
Databases have been in use since the early days of computing programs. An Information Technology services company, such as Getronics, not only utilizes databases for information and record management, it earns revenue by providing database management services. Getronics uses Microsoft SQL Server 2000 as its database software. The clients that contract Getronics for Information Technology services rely and depend on the accuracy and currency of the database information that is stored. Databases will continue to exist and expand as more companies become more of aware of the importance of record and data management.
Today, Database management systems play a main role in management, data transportation, administrative and control systems. A database management system (DBMS) is system software for creating, managing databases. A database management system creates a systematic way for programs, apps and users to create, retrieve, delete, update and manage data. DBMS ensure that data is consistently organized and remains easily accessible. As a normal person we access to database management systems every day within our personal computers, mobile phones and various digital devises for various purposes like play online games, find something, find a place. Today every business, organization use a DBMS for store,
As a requirement for our Database Management System I subject, we were assigned to create a database design model for a certain company. Since our instructor allowed us to select any company, we chose _____ ____ _____; further details about this establishment will be explained in the later part of this article.
The structured data means data that could be identified because it is organised in a structure. The standard form of structured data is a database where particular information is stored based on a methods of columns and rows. Structured data also can be look up by data type within content. Structured data is understood by computers and is also efficiently
The development of a database follows a database application lifecycle. It is a rather long process and requires a considerable amount of time, energy, and resources as well. A database administrator is obliged to strive for the perfection of the database to address the increasing amount of information to be dealt with. Apart from that, since new technology keeps emerging,
E-commerce: Database is used by any type of online organization to orient and organize their products, customer information, record of purchase, pricing information to further recommend about potential products to their customers This data is stored in highly secured database and the quality of security is attained by PCI(Payment Card Industry) standard.
