I myself believe that a six-hour workday is more of a compatable work ethic for workers and employees because it helps to improve the work place, workers become more focused, and it also helps workers gain energy to start an objective by staying motivated. An you may either agree or disagree with me, but remeber everyone has their own shared oppinion. For instance, It will help improve the workplace because, it will gain more money towards your paycheck and company. I with no doubt have experienced it because my old boss took us on a deep sea fishing trip and payed for all of the expences for our company trip. It also helps to create a healthy environment for workers an employees. For example, in the text it states that rethinking …show more content…
In the text it states that workers must be focused to be effective. but yet again it says workers must get a break to recharge themselves to increase more high productivity in the company. Finally, workers gain enough energy and motivation to start and finish an objective. I have witnessed it with my own eyes by seeing people usually waking up on the wrong side of the bed and just dont feel the need to work, and thats many men I have work with when in construction. But when there is a length in the time you work from, many men and woman will have the sense of encouragment to do what needs to be done, instead people usually working an eight hour shift would not even have any type of grit in themselves. for example in the text it says, Most people do their best thinking in late mornings and afternoon. This is partly due to biologic cycles of energy and motivation. In conclusion, I believe that a six-hour workday would be more effective for workers and employees, but most importantly the company itself. Heres why, it will help improve the workplace, help workers become more focused in their work, and also help the workers gain more energy and motivation to start and finish an objective. So rather then the following, I believe that the six-hour workday should be something in consiteration for future and all present
According to the passage, I believe it is important to work six hours a day with the appropiate break time. It will reduce stress and fatigue as well. It is also, healthier for our
Firstly, the long working hours could make employees bored of work, which might lead to the reduction in cooperative, harmonious working environment and psychological problem among employees. There seems to be a large decline in collectivism and negative effects in personality and work climate (Yung-Ho C et al, 2014). All people desire to pursue a meaningful life, besides work, they have their own interests, their family and their personal dream. If people cannot balance between work and personal life, they would not only be exposed to the risk of becoming a workaholic, but also damaged in their psychological aspects and even long-term mental problems (Armitage K, 2001).
The 4 day work week is not a new idea. It is one that has had its share of controversies over the years. Introduced in the 1970’s the idea of the 4 days work week has been making a comeback as of lately. There are several issues to look at here. One of the main statements in regards to it is that productivity will decrease because of fatigue. A 10 hour work day is too long. On the flipside, another of the main issues pointed out by proponents is that productivity will increase because you will have a workforce with higher morale. In this paper, we will discuss
A six-hour day will never work in this day of time. Cost of living for most state's is at a out time high.Family will not be about to take care of living expense. You,will need another money to commute back and forward to work. Those are the reason I feel that a six-hour workday want work.
In conclusion, shortening the workday to six hours will be beneficial overall to the companies that adopt it. With workers showing increased productivity, heightened focus, and an overall happier and positive attitude. A six hour workday should become the standard for all workplaces around the
When considering wether or not if six hour work days would be mutually beneficial for employees and employers, both sides of the discussion are making fair points. There are many issues still existing in the labor force today that need to be addressed. There are wage gaps for women and minorities, along with those in the lower social classes as a whole, regaurdless of sex or race. No laws are in place to ensure time off for new parents, not even for a woman who has just given birth. On the other hand, studies have absolutly shown the success of a six hour work day in other countries. Workers have had more time with family and friends, contributing to their overall rest, which doesn't always mean just having time to sleep.
I believe that working six hours a day is not the way to go. I can place my opinion in this by personal experience, the fact that is said in passage 1, and passage 2, or why longer days are better over shoter days and why passage two is more correct. The next couple of paragraghs will be my reasoning behind it all.
Agree with this but why stick to a 40 hour work week? Reduce it to 35 hours.
Some people may say working six-hour shifts is better, simply because workers have more energy. But having an eight-hour shift isn't a big differnce and workers do get 10-20 minute breaks to recharge. Working an eight hour shift could be a little tiring but the money you make is much better than that of a six-hour shift. This is why we should keep the standard work day at eight
I think that the six hour work is a ok idea but i would prefer to work eight hours or more. Sure the six hours will give you more time off and could increase productivity, but it will decrease pay. The original eleven to twelve hours a day during the Industrial revolution was a bit much, it is great that the time was set back and the pay doubled. That was a great way to motivate the workers to do more as well as give them more energy. But dropping the hours to six a day will just start to make the employees lazy and work less on the job.
A six hour workday should become a standard in the United States because it increases productivity and it has been shown to work in other countries.
This six-hour work day can help with the time needed to wake up and become ready for your day. What i know from these articles is that each have valid points of the reasoning of why and why they should not have six-hour work days. The information given in the first artcile had proof and evidence of why it was a good idea. Dispite the evidence and facts if you have ever worked a job that requires your full eight-hours, and your life matter on those extra two-hours a day. Then article two has the best reasoning and understanding of how important those hours
Is six-hour work days enough? On one side people want to decrease the work days to six hours to improve productivity. On the opposite side people want to keep the eight-hour work days because they don't believe six-hour days will work. I agree that six-hour work days wouldn't work out for a many reasons.
Henry Ford changed the workday to eight hours on his assembly line, in 1914. He did not, however create the focus his employees would use to increase their productivity the way they did. I believe by changing the length of the workday he captured some thing most companies fail to. The happiness of his workers. Should a six hour work day be the norm?
However, when employees add more time to the six hours a week, there are diminishing returns regarding the motivation, engagement, and inspiration. Therefore, while the leaders spend time with them, they must ensure
