So people have been given the chance to change but some don’t change, example in Christmas Carol Scrooge changes he becomes giving instead of grochey. So if Mr. Scrooge can change then I think everyone can change for the better. Because everyone is capable of changing they just need to try. Some people try but they are worried about change. Some people don’t really care they just want to become a better person. I think everyone can change for the better if someone is helping them like if someone is under the influence of drugs the could go see someone that could help them. Everyone is capable of changing but they just don’t try because they are either scared or lazy. Some people don’t think they need to change (but they do)
Over time, many have realized that people have the power to change others, however some believe that people cannot and will not change. One side of this argument is that though people will be the same their whole life, and never change. On the contrary, people have been changed by others over time and throughout history. It is a fact of life that people have the power to change others through their actions, perspectives, and ability to persuade their point of view.
Someone once said, “You can’t change people, either accept who they are or start living life without them.” This relates to the Westing Game by Ellen Raskin, because in the book, one of the main characters, Turtle, changed throughout the story. At the beginning of the story, she was rude, but at the end she was kind and trustworthy and this showed through her choices, actions, and dialogue. What I have learned is that change is possible if you try.
The only constant in the world is change, but what if an individual can't or won't change?
It is commonly said, as well as believed, that change is inevitable. It is bound to happen, whether we choose to believe in this concept or not. An excellent example of change, change of character specifically, would be Eliezer Wiesel in his book Night. He wrote about his time in concentration camps, and the traumatizing experiences he went through, some of which most people can’t even begin to imagine. His mentality changed and developed more and more as the book progressed, he has clearly changed from the once religious and faith-based boy, into an anguished and desolate man.
One example of how anyone can change is when Ponyboy is in Johnny's hospital room with Dally. When Johnny dies, Dally repeatedly asks Johnny not to die and then proceeds to run out of the room in a full sprint. When Ponyboy returns to his house, he is talking with his friends when he realizes that Johnny was the only thing that Dally cared about and when Johnny died, Dally finally broke. This is supported by, "Why

In addition, change can be good for the individual person. In example in “The Metamorphosis” Gregor was turned into a bug. This was a good change for him, because he does not have to deal with work anymore. Not only is change good for the individual person, It is can be bad society.
In the Charles Dickens novella “The Christmas Carol”, Ebenezer Scrooge is visited by the ghost of Marley, his friend from the past who warns Scrooge, “‘you have yet a chance and hope of escaping my fate. A change and hope of my procuring Ebenezer.’” (Dickens 23) Ebenezer Scrooge, a fictional character of Charles Dickens has the chance to change his way before it is too late, but in the real world it is hard to change. Having unhealthy habits they like to break out of, and people try different ways to break them;occasionally they are successful, and occasionally not, but people just keep trying until they reach their goal. Setting specific goals, while others just like to jump right in and go cold turkey, and some like to go through stages are
I agree that change is an unavoidable event that people react to base on their temperaments and coping mechanisms. Some people, who are considered laggards and rejectors, might call this change as adversity. Mullins (2009) stated that it isn’t how much adversity we face in our lives, but how we face them. Do we let it overpower us? Or, do we embrace it? It is indeed the role of the change agent to recognize and understand that there are different responses to the change. The question now relies to what responses do we have to put our efforts in order for the change to be successful. Do we focus on the laggards and rejectors because they are the wall that hinder us from moving forward?
Change is an indispensable and necessary part of life. As we continue to progress through life, we continue to change both physically and emotionally. Time and experience allows us to change our attitudes and perceptions of basically everything around us.
One thing that motivates people to change is fear. It could be any kind of fear, fear of someone, something. In the story “The Story of an Hour” , after her husband died Mrs. Mallard had to change her way of life and learn how to live a life where her husband isn’t there. ( The Story of an Hour). Slaves Feared that they would never become free but that fear instilled in them pushed them to stand up for themselves. Abraham Lincoln feared the U.S was dividing so he used that fear and waged war against fellow Americans so that change could occur. Change in general scares most people because of the unknown security and happiness on the other side but hope is what gets people to change.
