Che Guevara was considered a hero by many and a villain by others, he has had an eventful life filled with both good and bad things, resulting in multiple historical perspectives on who he is, with a variety of opinions on who he truly was, behind the generally assumed charismatic appearance. Whether or not he was a hero is an important debate and depends on your personal decision by weighing the facts of all sides while acknowledging that these positions do exist. Che is primarily portrayed as a hero with high ideals, mostly from his book in which was written by himself and a film that was later produced, creating the most familiar and common depiction of him. He stands up against arbitrary nuns of Catholic churches, refusing to feed people even if they’re in their own congregation. This could be seen as Che being strong and remaining against an uncalled for structure, or as an endeavor to turn individuals against the Church ahead of schedule in the motion picture, along these lines supporting Guevara later on. The most ideal approach to decide the position is to consider and examine whether the Church tends to act in this way. After investigating, I had found that they do not. As Guevara had traveled to Cuba, he, for the rest of his life, indicated strong regard and care for the indigenous groups of people and their land, as demonstrated in the film. However, according to the book and film, he viewed himself as a communist and he ended up plainly well known for assuming

To be a hero can can be defined in many ways. Heros are usually associated with courage, fearlessness, noble qualities, outstanding achievements, and a kind heart. These traits are what make up an ideal contributor to society helping those in need. The word hero can have a different meaning for cultures and religions. Question: Was Ernesto “Che” Guevara the revolutionary hero as depicted in today’s pop culture, or was he a vicious murderer, obsessed with the destruction of capitalism?
Simon bolivar, who was a rebel, decided to lead a revolution of South America. Simon bolivar was the leader of the revolution he gathered people from Venezuela and they fought fearless battle. Because Simon created a speech he became famous he quoted “let us lay the cornerstone of American freedom without fear!” Simon became military leader over patriots who were ready to fight. During Their first triumph came in 1813. He also gained the name el liberatador which meant the liberator. Super surprisingly they fought fight after fight, for over more than ten years. Simon never gave up hence the name “second Washington of the new world.” Simon bolivar, who was a rebel, became an exquisite hero.
The definition of a hero is not a simple dictionary definition. Heroism is a complex idea, but many people in history have been regarded as heroes. These great figures were honored by all, it is they who embody heroism. They made a large change for the better in our society. While this change is what made them stand out, all you need to be is one who helps and trusts others even if you have to sacrifice something for them.
Ernesto “Che” Guevara was a part of the 26th of July Movement in Cuba. He became a revolutionary leader who inspired many and brought the guerrilla to victory in 1959. He was a part of the eighty-two men who sailed on the Granma from Mexico to Cuba in December of 1956 (Staten 114). The biographical film, Che: Part One directed by Steven Soderbergh, shows the journey of Che and the guerrillas as they attempted to defeat Batista’s military. Che: Part One is not simply just a depiction of Che’s life, but it brings you right into the action of the armed struggle the guerrilla faced. The revolution shaped Che into the leader he became. He started out as a simple doctor who wanted to bring the people of Cuba what they deserved. Che went through changes as the periods of the revolution went on. He grew to be a leader that would bring his people to the victories they achieved. Throughout the portrayal of the revolution, it can be seen how Che changes and adapts based on what situation he is facing and how the movie shows it. The film goes back and forth between the times Che is in Cuba fighting and after he wins the revolution and talks about his experiences.
Another idea of a hero was when Gandhi had stood up for his country; India. “Gandhi led nationwide campaigns to ease poverty, expand women's rights, and build religious and ethnic amity” plus he had “spent a number of years in jail in both South Africa and India”. In other words Gandhi never gave up showing everyone how India should be independent. Gandhi had stood out his way by leading marches to declare independence. Gandhi had been admired for his bravery (when he was thrown in jail a few times), his confidence (he never showed any sign of weakness) and perseverance (he had never gave up).
Heroes come in many shapes and sizes, throughout time many of them have risen and fallen. A hero is characterized as someone that is a leader to his people, they reflect societal views, and yet they have a major flaw that often causes their downfall. During the 20th century a revolutionary man rose from his years of exile to lead the Bolshevik party into power, his name, Vladimir Lenin. Lenin stands as a prime example of a leader that reflects Russia’s social values, and as a flaw for his outspoken nature suffers from a near-death assassination.
So from a young age Guevara was exposed to political discussions and debate in the house. Ernesto also had developed asthma from an early age on which had hunted him till his last days. His struggle to endure and overcome this asthma developed a notable will power and a sense of purpose to triumph over. Due to his illness as a child he was forced to spend long periods at home, and encouraged by his parents he became an passionate reader.
What is a hero? In my view a hero is someone that you admire. You may
Like the much used stencil of Guevara's determined visage, the general perception of his life is flat and two-dimensional. No where more so, it seems, then in the country richest in Guevara's history, Cuba. An article printed July 21st 1997 in Newsweek, entitled 'Return Of The Rebel', explored Cuban society in the wake of the long-awaited discovery of Guevara's skeleton in Bolivian town of Vallegrande. In it journalist Brook Lamer explains how 'the Cuban Government played a pivotal role in creating the Che mystique, and it is not about to let its franchise slip away'[2].
It is hard to travel anywhere in the world without seeing somewhere the iconic image of Che Guevara on a T-Shirt, souvenir, or poster. The original photographer, and the Irish artist who turned that photograph into a print, are virtually unknown. However, their image has been redistributed to the point where it can effectively be called an icon or a meme. There is no small amount of irony in the fact that an icon of communism has become an emblem of capitalism: as the image has been bought and sold countless times in countless countries around the world. The iconic image of Che Guevara has a hipster chic to it, but also political panache. To don the Che Guevara image means one does not agree with the establishment and is part of the 99%. However, Che Guevara is a controversial figure too. The image has been banned in some parts of the world, because Che was a radical revolutionary who was not against the use of armed uprisings in communist revolts. Therefore, the iconic Che Guevara image created first in Cuba and turned into pop art by an Irishman is a paradoxical and typically postmodern cultural meme.
