Anything worth having will not come without its share of challenges. No career path is going to be greener on the other side. Challenges that are brought about in any career is easier to endure if it is something that one is passionate about doing. In the health care field there are several challenges that healthcare workers must face. The role of the Physician Assistant also known as PA holds great responsibility and has challenges; some of which only a Physician Assistant would face. One challenge that is specific to Physician Assistants is the question of competency by the patient. Another is dealing with the feeling of not being properly compensated. Last but not least Physician Assistance endure working long and odd hours. However when one enjoys that chosen career, they will find a solutions to every obstacle or challenge that stands in their way.

The US News ranked a Nurse Anesthetist number 4 in the top 100 best jobs of 2016. Although satisfying, a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is a highly stressful nursing specialty (Phillips, 2010). According to Gouveia (2016), a registered nurse is ranked top 5 in most stressful jobs. Some of the brightest and best CRNAs, even past presidents of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) have taken their own life because of addiction (Quinlan, 2009). Substance abuse and addiction is a well-known topic unfortunately, it continues to be an issue and struggle everyday for some anesthesia providers. Medical Assistants help offices and clinics run smoothly. A Medical Assistant can work individually with a doctor. In a small office they tend to report directly to a physician, health practitioner or office manager. In a larger office they tend to specialized in a particular area and they report to department administrator or other operations management.

What is a CMA? A CMA, also known as a certified medical assistant, is an individual that has been awarded a certification credential through the Certifying Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants(AAMA). CMA has been educated in a wide scope of general, clinical, and administrative responsibilities. They were also tested. CMAs play major roles in the medical field, by aiding other professionals to help patients. Being a certified medical assistant takes time, the process maybe complicated but in the end of the day it may be worth it.

While researching the profession of certified medical assisting (CMA), I found numerous in depth material regarding the description of certified medical assisting and the requirements needed to obtain a job within healthcare. Much of the material that I used was pulled from my Medical Assisting book and online resources. My goal in this research was to find a better understanding of the entirety of this position and the many benefits of becoming a CMA.

It is a mid July summer day and as I clumsily shuffle down an uneven sidewalk, I can feel the heat from the cement radiate against my flesh and the feel of my sweaty palm on my caregiver’s forearm as she guides me through Old Town, a small historical landmark in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Nursing is a profession concerned with human responses to actual and potential health problems. Nursing focuses on the care of individuals, families, and communities so they may attain, maintain, or recover optimal health and quality of life. The best qualities that every nurse should have is being compassionate, understanding, honest, and ethical. Nursing offers a variety of specialty areas to further your knowledge. In the future, I would like to aspire for a certification in the specialty area of anesthesia. To become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), it is important to keep in mind the many years of study that is required, why CRNAs are important in the healthcare field, and the job outlook along with the best places to work.

As most kids grow up, their dream job changes all the time. One week they want to fly to the moon as an astronaut while the next week they want to rule the world as president. However, I’ve always wanted to help people by being a doctor. I would sit in front of the television mesmerized for hours by various trauma shows. I preformed surgery on my stuffed animals and diagnosed my friends and family with different fake illnesses. As I continued to grow up, I realized there is many types of jobs in the medical field that preform a variety of different services. After researching the different options, I fell in love with the idea of being a physician assistant (PA). A PA, supervised by a doctor, has the freedom to interpret tests, record progress, and diagnose patients. In order to become a PA, it takes a lot of schooling, but it is a rewarding job that I would be very good at. Ten years from now, I will be a great physician assistant due to the characteristics I already posses and the education that I will be receiving in the future.

In five years, I see myself in medical school. I want to become an anesthesiologist.

I am a Respiratory Therapist completing my Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences. I recently graduated in May with my Associates in Respiratory Care and passed both of my National Boards. I will be working at Mizzou's University Hospital in Columbia, MO starting June 12th, 2017. My end goal is to be able to be a Critical Care Flight Respiratory Therapist and then become a professor for a Respiratory Care program after gaining years of experience.

My educational goals are attending a four year university getting a bachelors degree in science with a minor in chemistry. When I was in high school, my great-grandmother became ill and came to live with us. Before school, after school, and during the weekend, I helped take care of her. This gave me a sense of pride and during that time, I realized how fulfilling it is to help people. I did not start out on the path to be a part of the medical profession, but I always had the desire! I have often given of my time volunteering at the Agape Senior Care facility. Now I am well on my way to becoming a medical assistant (MA)!

I hope to possibly work for a sports team and or be employed at Kaiser as a sports or shoulder and ankle specialist. I have seen so many sports specialist, but every time I pay a visit I am fascinated with all the certain types of specialty doctors have. I want to be different from some doctors though. Instead of calling me Dr. Thai I would want people to address me as just Jason, for the reason I believe that titles create barriers. Ultimately, my biggest goal would to one day travel the world to third world countries to provide help to those in need. With the knowledge obtained from college, I could work with others to make the lives of other abroad a life worth living. I am not pursuing this career for the money, but for the reason that I may help those who may not even be able to afford doctors. My aspirations now were shaped by my favorite aunt. My aunt was a dentist who sacrificed time with her family to take care of mine. She would give everything to see my family happy. I remember she sang the song "My Heart Will Go On" as I played the song on my trumpet. She passed away a couple years ago, and I was unable to thank her for all she has done. When it is finally my turn to join her, I can finally tell her thank you. Her heart truly did go on, and I am ready to work hard to achieve my goals. For now I make progress day by
