Most Military Soldiers believe that when they get out of the Military and start a business that there is only one type of business they can own. They also believe that they will not have any problems in achieving their own business goals and will have stability in that business. This is why they have to set long and short term goals. Look at privately owned business vs. government owned business and the pros and cons of making your choice of business. When making that choice of either business type education level, wages, benefits, and total compensation are an affecting factor to a positive or negative outcome.
Accomplishment, Issues, and Concerns
The state of this project, including accomplishment, issues, and concerns are as followed: when doing the research, finding sufficient information to support the entire topic outline is difficult to find, narrow down, and changes from country to country. However, the choice of privately owned business vs. government owned business have been broken down into a small sample population of ten Military Soldiers out of twenty-five that are attending a class called, “Boots to Business.” While looking at the pros and cons of education level, wages, benefits, and total compensation, one can become somewhat familiar with the research topic by experience, while testing the validity, reliability, and obtain the purpose of this research. The ten Soldier names and identity will stay confidential and private; unless otherwise
The United States Army is a complex organization made up of several commands and managed by different command levels. The U.S. Army is an organization different from that of a business in many unique ways. Specific examples of these differences include: financial reporting, disciplinary review procedures, and tactical operations. Although different in many ways, the Army shares many similar characteristics of a normal profit business. Army personnel are managed by supervisors arranged in a command structure similar to that of a business hierarchy. The Army will also encounter internal and external factors that could impede or enhance operations. As such, planning, organizing, leading, and controlling must be used by managers appropriately
Health care reform has been a hot topic in recent years and more so with the expansion of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010. The debate that arises from the health care reform concerns which two perspectives, pro-government or pro-free enterprise, will best allocate resources to improve access, cost, and quality of care. I strongly believe the majority who favors each given group is influenced by their individual background. For those people who have grown up with health insurance, they most likely believe it is an individual responsibility, whereas people who struggle to be insured could benefit from a central role through the federal government and feel it is their right as an American citizen to receive such
Since have taken an interest in this job I started researching. Growing up in Texas, we were always very supportive of the military. However, I never really knew what it meant until I started researching and figuring out what makes America so strong. All the story's lead back to the military. What I learned from story's people from the military have told , and are still telling is that serving your country can leave a legacy. It can also impact your country forever, which is very clear. The most shocking thing that I discovered was that people would not say that they did it for personal gain but for the people. It shows the dedication that they have to this country, and it is
Unfortunately, many veterans are without employment. Veterans who joined the military right after high school are at a disadvantage when competing for civilian jobs. Veterans often don’t have skills and the experience necessary to obtain jobs after deployment from the military (Foundation for the Carolinas, 2012). Additionally, they lack a college education necessary for obtaining decent paying jobs. Because of their lack of work experience, veterans are being subjected to employment discrimination (Weissman, 2014). Veterans are in need of greater employment opportunities and financial assistance. Furthermore, many veterans don’t receive military benefits or receive an insufficient amount to support themselves and/or their families (NASW, 2012).
The culture for those who come from the military is highly disciplined and has an emphasis accomplishing goals for the larger group. Veterans witness a low “work ethic and see people squander away their opportunity” creating a difference in the culture between ex-military and civilian populations in daily life (Rodriguez, Ricardo, 2016:Personal Interview). The experience for Ricardo, a
The situation in today 's Army is clearly much different from what existed years ago. Many changes have occurred, moving the Army 's EO program from a strictly educational and training initiative to a multifaceted management program with clear goals and objectives. These goals and objectives are also an integral part of human relations and are nurtured and developed through a professional military education system.
There has been a lot of fuss over big business influencing the government in the United States lately. Now there is no doubt that the business elite have some influence on politics. It can even be traced back to the early 1900’s, when “the People’s Party had disintegrated, but many writers and activists have continued to echo the Populists’ central thesis: that the U.S. democratic political system is in fact dominated by business elites” (). Although there are countless arguments to go against this idea, the questions still comes up today: Is government dominated by big business? Political Scientist G. William Domhoff believes that government is dominated by big business. More specifically, Domhoff believes that owners and top-level managers in income-producing properties are not only dominant power figures in the US, but they also have inordinate influence in the federal government (). Another political scientist however, Sheldon Kamieniecki, believes otherwise. He states that businesses do not really get involved in policies that affect them; and even when they do, their success rate at influencing policies is not consistent. In fact, he believes that other factions have more influence on government policies ().
Describe from your perspective the appropriate roles of the private sector versus the federal, state, and local government (i.e., should private sector have more control, or government) with regard to the nation’s healthcare system.
Government Corporations are established by law and enforced under U.S code. They are developed for areas of special interests in the United States. These corporations can be completely owned by the government or partially. The corporation have Congressional over sight and are intended to generate more money that their operating cost. Structure in these agencies can vary depending on the type of service or designate purpose to the government.
One of the few democratic governments that are still competitive in today’s race for being a major world power is of course the United States. Both the state level and national level have to work in unison for many issues. Although, some issues are left to be handled by either the national government or state government on their own, but not both. The federal government of the United States thrives off their capability to function on both of these levels, thus increasing productivity of the nation. Occasionally, there is an issue that is brought up and the national government disagrees with the states and vice versa, this is shown in history and current events. When the federal government disagrees with the states viewpoint on something, it
Government should not be run like a business because a system that was established to protect and ensure the public good should always put equity before efficiency. Government is inherently different from business, and therefore should run differently.
I believe that the state government is the daily effects in our lives because we use many resources each day that are funded by our state government. The state government pays for the bus transportation we used when we were going to school. They pay for the our trash removal all over our community and provide teachers for schools, as well as libraries. The state government also pays for people in our community to have clean water. The state pays for the upkeeps of the city parks, that many people use daily and sewages to be disposed. Town buildings and roads are also funded by our state government. One of our main ones that we use daily is electricity. It's safe for all of us to use because we have licensed and well prepared electricians
Politics is a war zone where two parties want to be the best; party instead of working together to make the best for people. This business legislation article talks about legislations that affect business, organizations in a positive way or negative way. There are three articles that talks about three different legislations that are affecting businesses. The first article talks about the FDA Reauthorization Act. According, to Doug Schoen, the idea of FDA Act is to give pharmaceutical companies a better opportunity to quickly develop cures for diseases and illnesses facing struggling Americans. The Act is mean to speed up the process to deliver faster medicines to patience. The issues with this legislation is that speeding up the process it
The issue of business relations with government has increasingly become a key issue of business ethics. Some of the many questions raised are
When we examine public sector versus private sector, plenty of differences come to mind. In defining each, we learn a private sector in an economy consist of all businesses and firms owned by ordinary members of the general public. It also consists of all the private households in which people live. The public sector in an economy is owned and controlled by a government. It consist of government businesses and firms and goods and services provided by the government such as the national health service, state
