Bulimia Etiology Why do humans have bulimia nervosa? A person doesn’t develop bulimia by a disease or it’s transmitted to one person to another but the individual can develop this problem mentally in their brain because bulimic and also anorexia people, they dislike how they look or are they have low self-confidence. Both categories have eating disorders meaning they either eat too much food or too little only to satisfy themselves physically or emotionally but everyone is different and they might do different things in order to make themselves feel better. The worst part is that people might not even know that they have bulimia or anorexia but sometimes it could be noticeable by their abnormal behaviors. For example bulimic people are those who are stress, emotional, depressed, have anxiety, fatigue etc. they could make poor decision that could affect and harm their health or even put their life at risk such as purging all the time which could cause sore or swollen throat, stomach pain, blood during vomiting due to irritation of the esophagus, heartburns, dry skin, red eyes that’s from forcing the vomiting and much more. Most importantly bulimic people may also have problems in the oral cavity which cause them their teeth to be sensitive to hot and cold, sometimes have open bites, dry mouth because the saliva glands could be affected from …show more content…

In the other hand, a dentist is able to diagnose people who are bulimic by doing an examination of their mouth. The upper front teeth usually have stains or their wisdom teeth also known as molars loose some of their protected layer where they bite down food called biting surface which could cause them to have excessive decay, infections of the nerves within the teeth. Mostly because their teeth start to have less enamel which is the layer that’s visible in the mouth which could lead to problems, as well as having trauma in the tissues by eating a huge amount of food and will eventually having periodontal disease meaning that the tissues are bright red and don’t have enough attachment to the tooth which could cause their tooth to
