The Company Director only has a laptop. A fax machine, laser printer and a photocopier are all located in the front office area. There is also a laser printer and a photocopier in the back office.
Apart from the Director's office and the front and back administration offices there is also a conference room and a staff kitchen. In the kitchen, there is an urn, a large fridge/freezer, toaster and microwave oven. There is an old TV and a data projector in the conference room.
TRAL consulting operates from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. All staff members have a lunch break between 12 noon and 1pm except one who is on duty on a rostered basis so that front office remains open during this time.
Lighting includes 10 standard fluorescent lights in the front office, 20 standard fluorescent lights in the back office, 1 standard fluorescent light in the conference room, 1 standard fluorescent light in the Directors office, 1 standard fluorescent light in the staff kitchen and 8 standard fluorescent lights in the staff toilets. This week’s assignment is about evaluating the quality issues of three organizations. The three sectors I chose to evaluate are manufacturing, service and government. In between the two desks in a door into the office of the department head. To the right of the seating area is a hallway that spans the rest of the office. There are four rooms each containing one to three people. At the end of the hallway there is a small room with a sink, a coffee maker, a water dispenser and a miniature fridge. This kitchen-like area also contains the large printer and copier, as well as filing cabinets full of supplies, documents, and some snacks as well. All of the desks in the office have little bowls or containers full of small snacks or candy. These are for both workers and guests to snack on.

Quality Assurance is about defining for yourself and to others “what you do know” and making sure that you know “what it is you don’t know” before proceeding with “doing the work”.
ISO 9001 is a Quality management standard which is recognised internationally and used by organizations worldwide. It can be used by business of all sizes, it provides an effective quality management system. It was first published in 1987 (updated 1994, 2000, 2008). The latest version was published in 2015.
