This allow people who are created by these scientists to feel a couple of ways either feeling more superior to the rest of the bunch or feeling like nothing more than experiments and backups. Why? One of the reasons people can make designer babies is to have some sort of donor for another child or for the parent themselves. This can make this person feel more like a backup, born more to save the life of this person that way they can live longer. Scientists are also trying to see if they can create this children be healthy born so we could possibly live longer than the average person. However even though living a little bit longer does sound nice it can affect our population numbers, as we all know the birth rate is larger than the death rate. If we can find a way to extend life expectancy we will be struggling with overpopulation and food shortages which can lead to a race demise in the worst possible case scenario but, for sure people will have to create more gmo foods to feed everybody and we may or may not have less natural food without being created in some sort of lab. ”throughout the text, there is a beautiful interplay of practicalities versus ethics when considering gene manipulation. In discussing eugenics (whether to build better basketball players or a meatier pig), he succinctly points out that we must ethically address what is theoretically possible, even if it is not realistically plausible” (Neckameyer, Wendi S. 2002). In other words how we should be seeing this is in order to even think about creating something that is referred to as “playing God” we should look at everything it can be effecting whether or not it is possible but take it into consideration. Designer babies will be able to replicate that of an older sibling to donate/ save his/her life for
