Andrew Jackson should not be on the $20-dollar bill. There are many reasons why Andrew Jackson should not be representing our country by being on the $20-dollar bill. He was one of the most controversial presidents of all time. He was so controversial that people petitioned the government to get him off our currency.i He had a very bad temper, he destroyed the economy, and he was very racist.
Andrew Jackson's mother volunteered as a nurse for American prisoners but got cholera and died. His oldest brother volunteered to fight in the war but died of heat exhaustion and sickness at the Battle of Stono Ferry. In 1781, Andrew Jackson and his brother Robert were capture by the British, and Rober soon died of smallpox. Andrew Jackson blamed the British for killing his mother and brothers, which caused his deep hatred for the British and was the main cause of his

And when this news got to Charles, he was furious He started publishing nasty stories about Andrew Jackson in the newspaper, which upset Andrew even more. But, when Charels called him a coward in one of his newspaper articles, Andrew Jackson had had it with Charels and challenged him to a duel. Unlucky for Andrew, Charles Dickinson was one of the best shots around! And, when the day of the duel came, they both showed up and squared off. Andrew Jackson wore a big coat to make it harder to know where his chest was. But, his big coat was no match for Charles and he shot Andrew two inches from his heart. He took all his remaining strength and shot Charles in the stomach, killing him a few hours later. Since the bullet was so close to Andrew's heart, it could not be removed so he had it in his chest for the rest of his life! The bullet caused a lot of pain for Andrew and sometime made him cough up blood. If he had kept calm and just ignored Charels Dickinson, he would not have a bullet in his chest causing him pain, and maybe his reputation wouldn't have been so
Andrew Jackson was an orphan and a veteran at the age of fifteen, he taught school a little and then read law in North Carolina. In 1787, he accepted an offer to serve as a public prosecutor in North Carolina. In 1788, he built a legal practice, entered in trading venturers, and began to acquire land and slaves. During his presidential campaigns, his opponents charged at him with bigamy and wife-stealing. His rise to politics was a quick succession, he was a delegate to the state constitutional convention in 1795, then Tennessee's first congressman, then a senator. He resigned his senate post after one year and taking a job closer to home, as a judge of Tennessee's superior court. In 1802, he challenged Governor John Sevier for election as
I do not believe that President Jackson should be on the twenty dollar bill. He was not a man of good; all he cared about was pleasing himself and making other people believe he was doing good; manipulating them. Andrew Jackson was only concerned with keeping the union together. If he could get people to see that he could keep the states one nation then he would gain fame. I find
Imagine being forced out of your homes with thousands of other people by ruthless soldiers that threaten you at bayonet point to leave your beloved household with nothing but the clothes on your back. The soldiers lead you and many others thousands of miles into unknown territory where they force you to stay. You hear some people have rebelled… and were killed. This is what President Andrew Jackson did to many Native American tribes approximately 150 years ago. There were many Presidents in the history of the United States, both good and bad, but few have achieved the great infamy of Andrew Jackson, for he was known as ¨Indian Killer¨ and ¨Sharp Knife¨. Although he can be considered a great president, he has committed many treacherous acts. Jackson was one of the worst presidents of The United States because he mur the Native Americans, he had a unquenchable temper that killed many people in duels, and he caused inflation with the nation’s money.
General Jackson's mother was a COMMON PROSTITUTE brought to this country by British soldiers! She afterward married a MULATTO MAN, with whom she had several children, of which number General Jackson IS ONE!!
I think Andrew Jackson should stay on the the twenty dollar bill because he was good leader and if he was on the twenty dollar bill to begin with he should stay on it.
In the history of America, the people have always had a mixed opinions or views with certain presidents on certain bills. Some presidents brought change, while others didn't which shows why not all presidents have a bill with their face on it. But the people have never felt more mixed about a president on a bill until Andrew Jackson took the 20. While Andrew Jackson has made a lot of positive gains in America there is still a lot of negative things and I think he shouldn't be on the bill at all. He has done way more harm than good such as he was still a murderer and a traitor symbol on America because of events he took in such as him making South Carolina stay in the union and pay taxes, him vetoing the pet banks, and he signed for the Trail of Tears.
Andrew Jackson was born in Waxhaws border of the Carolinas into a family of poverty. His father died before he was born. His mother and brothers died from diseases, which were contracted from the British during the Revolutionary War. Jackson wanted revenge on the "red coats." The War of 1812 was his perfect opportunity. In a brutal battle to keep New Orleans, he defeated the British and became a national hero. In 1828, he became the seventh president of the United States. Although Jackson was a national hero from the Battle of New Orleans, his presidential administration was flawed due to creating the spoils system, sending troops to states that disagreed with him, and the demise of thousands of Native Americans.
Andrew Jackson, the seventh president of the United States of America, brave, tough, and mean as a snake but how did he get that way? He was born in South Carolina to his newly emigrated family. His father died soon after he was born, so his mother raised three kids by herself and some Irish immigrant farmers. When he was thirteen he and his brothers joined the Revolutionary war to fight the British. His oldest brother died in battle, but Jackson and his other brother were captured. Jackson disobeyed his captors and was cut with a sword also him and his brother got smallpox in captivity. When they were released because of a prisoner exchange his brother shortly died from sickness. Jackson recovered but his mother died of cholera and
Awarded the prestigious honor to remain forever engraved on the twenty dollar bill, Andrew Jackson became a figure in American history never forgotten. Future generations of younger students will not need to know Andrew for them to assume he was a great man. Unfortunately, the ignorance of idolizing Jackson because he appears on American currency serves to blanket the realities of his administration. Jackson should be removed from the twenty dollar bill.
Andrew Jackson, the man on the twenty dollar bill, may have accomplished little achievements, during the course of his life but some of his actions were quite questionable. Depending on my own definition of successful, Andrew Jackson was a little successful but a bad president, in terms of “forcing the Cherokee off of their Georgian lands by passing the Indian Removal Act of 1830, killing the bank of the United States by preventing it from being rechartered or being successful at inspiring popular interest in politics and encouraging the participation in government of basically all white men of the day, hence inaugurating” .But then, you decide whether he was a good president or not. I'll let you be the judge of whether or not the good cancels out the bad.But let me present to you, in this article how he was a bad president by explaining the Indian Removal Acts and its injustice causing all the separations and problems that may exist today. since Andrew Jackson's presidency.
America has been shaped and reshaped in various instances throughout its history; some of the men that played vital roles in achieving the status we now possess have been immortalized in our currency. President Andrew Jackson, is one of the few American leaders that was chosen to live on forever; however, many now argue whether or not Jackson truly deserves the honor to be represented in the 20 dollar bill--- arguing that there are other better qualified people to take his place; an example being Harriet Tubman. I believe that President Andrew Jackson should stay on the 20 dollar bill. Although many of his personal beliefs contradict many of our current beliefs and values, we shouldn’t judge him on them; rather, we should judge President Jackson on his actions as a president and how he impacted the nation as a leader. Thanks to the hard decisions that President Jackson had to take America was able to advance the way it did. We wouldn’t be the United States of America we are today without President Jackson.
Andrew jackson was the creator of the trail of tears and also lost his parent at
Admittedly, some people have the view that Andrew Jackson was a hero and amazing president. He was a loyal, chivalrous war hero and a man of action. He won the battle of New Orleans against the British. Also, he defended Peggy Eaton when the whole white house was against her. However, being the man of action he was, there were a lot of problems. He wasn’t really a “war hero” if the war was already over so he ended a lot of lives that didn’t need to be ended. In addition, by defending Peggy, he fired his whole cabinet. Therefore Andrew Jackson is the opposite of a
Was Andrew Jackson a hero or a villain? Does he deserve to be on the twenty dollar bill? The things he did were appealing only for a few. This did not represent all of the United States. He did what was best for the majority of Americans. His ideas did not appeal to the rich and well-born because his focus was farmers. The majority is not always what is right. Jackson’s approach was very straight forward. He got rid of people he didn't agree with and hired people who had the same opinions as him. This led to abuses of political power designed to benefit and enrich the ruling party. A hero needs to listen to others and not just do what he wishes just because he has the ultimate power to do so. Andrew Jackson should not be on the twenty dollar bill because he forced Native Americans out of their homes, did not follow rules, and had a terrible temper.
Ka-ching! The man behind the counter had just received a $20 bill with Andrew Jackson's face on it. Andrew Jackson was the seventh president of the United States. He is controversial of being either a villain or a hero. He is controversial because he cleaned up the land of Indians for the Americans. Some call this good because he cleared up land, some call it bad because he disrespected the Indians. Andrew Jackson was also nominated as president because he won the battle of New Orleans and commanded his army to win with very little casualties. But the things he did as president were not as good as the things he did before. Andrew Jackson should be replaced on the $20 bill because he slaughtered and drove Indians out of their homes, changed
