Sleeping Freshmen Never Lie Major Characters- Physical Description, Personality, Key Facts (in no particular order) Scott is short, smart and pretty witty, he’s essentially the narrator of the book. He has an older brother and a soon to be born baby brother whom he’s writing a high school “survival guide” of sorts to. Throughout the book we follow this book lover through is first year at J.P. Zenger High. Also, he’s a red head (learned at the very end). Lee comes off as a scary Goth girl (or some other alternative subculture) at first with her piercings and dyed hair but, in reality she’s just as witty and in to literature as Scott, who she befriends. She was bullied earlier in the book, but she took those words and owned them when she made a tee shirt with the words “Freaky B___ch” on it (a shirt that obviously didn’t last long in school), the same words written on her locker. Julia is Scott’s love interest for most of the book. She has short, dark brown, highlighted hair, wears a bit of makeup and has contacts. She does theatre which prompted Scott to sign up and also Vernon (her boyfriend), Wesley is also a new friend Scott gains and is an upperclassmen (not a freshmen). He’s strong and intimidating even keeping Vernon from beating up Scott at one point. He started out as a bit of a bully, but is surprisingly much friendlier than expected. Major Events- List of 10 (in no particular order, to be frank I forget the exact order and didn’t use sticky notes like I usually would, so the order of events is probably off) Scott’s First Day Scotts’ first day is an important event since it’s his first introduction to high school, and we simply get to follow him through the experience. This in a sense is the start of the book when it comes to the ongoing events we see throughout. His crush on Julia, him learning he’s going to have baby brother and the start of his diary journaling. All of this starts on the first day, making it an important event. Scott Learning his Mom is Pregnant In the second chapter, Scott during his first day learns he’s going to have a baby brother. While this can go along with the first day being important, this is still an important event on
Scott changed a lot compared to anyone else in the book Sleeping Freshmen Never Lie. The book Sleeping Freshmen Never Lie is a book based on a Freshman named Scott Hudson who is trying to survive while going through his freshmen year. Scott changed the most in Sleeping Freshmen Never Lie because he went from being really shy to getting tougher at the end of the book. Scott's relationship has changed a lot over the book because he had a relationship with Julia then he changed to having one with Lee.

Another main character of the story is Cate’s childhood best friend Vaughan. His character is a bit mysterious during the beginning of the story because it isn't quite sure why he's come to Skola. Vaughan is also initiated initiated into the society, because he helped built the Guilds networking site. Cate isn’t sure if she’s able to trust Vaughan because back home they had a bad split. Vaughan is mysterious, but a sweetheart he is thought of as adorable and is in love with Cate. Vaughans character develops into more of a dangerous and outgoing person as Cate and him set out to find the killer. Although the killer is in the back of the reader’s mind, the readers cannot be sure of the culprit till the end of the story.
If you were asked to choose only the ‘significant events’ for a timeline, which ones would you choose and why? Justify why you chose them and not the others.
Jason is described as very smart. His knowledge extends from the military to how to build something in a new way. One example is the snow-kart, which also shows how determined he is. He spent many hours trying to make the kart work, and he always had new ideas for it. When Pete decided to use it one day, Jason was hesitant to let him use it. He did not want to risk Pete’s life because he knew the kart was not quite finished. Another person the author characterizes as smart is Scotty. He knew a lot about the “nor’easter” when it was mentioned on the radio. He also proved to be correct when he suggested where to put the fire. Of his friends, he is the most athletic. Scotty is only a sophomore and he is on the basketball team already. The last way Scotty was characterized was as brave and loyal. He was willing to risk his life for his friend, even though he was already likely dead. Both of the people that I evaluated have great
Give a one-sentence definition of internal validity. As an example, I’m going to conduct a study that deprives college students of sleep, to prove their grades will go down as a result. If I found a link between reduced sleep and reduced grades, what is an internally valid conclusion about the results of this study (be specific)?
The first day of school is a book just opened with the story yet to unfold. My story starts in a new unfamiliar place. It was intimidating to walk into the halls of Larned High School. Coming from a school of 80 students to a school of over 300 students was a massive change.

If anyone has ever had a bad first day at school, that’s what almost every day of high school seemed like for Scott and his friends. In the book Sleeping Freshmen Never Lie a lot of the characters changed a lot, but Scott did change the most. Scott changed the most because he became more social and because he became a lot less judgemental. Scott changed the most in Sleeping Freshmen Never Lie because he started to talk to more people and became a lot more social then he was when he started high school.
There are a few factors that are essential for life such as breathing or eating, but one of the most essential factor is sleep. Even though the amount of sleep people need differs from one individual to another, the fact is that eventually everyone needs to sleep. People know the importance of sleep, but due to the increased workload and the pressure of society people are getting less sleep. As a result, there has been an increase interest on the effects lack of sleep has on the mind especially the memory of a person. Many questions arose about the relationship between sleep and memory due to the fact most high school and college students have become sleep deprived. For example, does more sleep mean higher grades?
It all backfires though and he is stuck going to awful football games, building and moving sets, and sitting through meetings he has no say in. He and his three friends end up going their separate ways whether by force or choice so Scott had to make new friends. When one of his “friends” feels like his own life is not worth anything and nobody like him he tries to kill himself. This news shakes Scott up a bit and Scott feels like he should have been nicer to his friend and as a result, begins to visit him in the hospital.
Jade Harkness HIS 202 J.Page 1 December 2016 The Five Most Significant Events As history continues to be made, many different events have become very significant and influential. Each day the news is informing us on the latest reports of events that are happening in our country and around the world. There have been a lot of surprises around every corner in history, good and bad.
Here’s a look at the key events in the opening weeks of the fall semester:
In today’s society, many people go through many days yawning, fighting to stay awake and indulging in many cups of coffee. If you were to ask them what the cause of their restlessness was, the popular statement would be a lack of sleep. However, most would not dare to think that a lack of sleep could cause multiple issues in everyday life. This problem has been seen to peak during the good ole college days. It is hard to imagine that those days of all-night cramming sessions and those late nights partying causing students to be sleep deprived could lead to a variety of problems like stress, long term insomnia, and a weakened immune system.
Scott is a very quiet laid back man. He rarely gets extremely excited, raises his voice, or shows anger. For instance, someone rudely put down an idea he had saying it was irrelevant to the problem they were solving. Scott never raised his voice an inch and replied back “I’m not saying you have to use my idea to fix the problem, I want you to use this idea and build off of it and discover a possible conclusion.” He never wants to intensify an argument or conversation by seeming rude. Ultimately, he shows his respect and suggests ideas to extinguish the possibility of confrontation .
