What is government? Government is the governing body of nation, state, or community. Government determines the way any group of people are ran. There a several different types of government used all around the world. In the United States for example, uses a type of government that has three different branches of power. The Legislative Branch is the law making branch. The Judicial branch is the courts and the low enforcement. Lastly, the Executive branch is the presidential branch. “Each has its own responsibilities and at the same time they work together to make the country run smoothly and to assure that the rights of citizens are not ignored or disallowed.” (Osborne) Usually, governments break up the responsibilities into two or more groups. Two very influential writers wrote about their views on government; Lao-tzu and Machiavelli. These writers were in very different times which makes it very interesting to compare their views. Lao-tzu and Machiavelli had very different views on the ultimate purpose of government, the obligations of government leaders, and the main work of the state.

When looking up the definition of a government it says, “the governing body of a nation, state, or community”(dictionary.com). This helps to understand it a bit more, but what is the purpose of a government. Government has many purposes that keep its people safe and protected, this includes to establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity. There are so many ways that the government is use and there are so many sub categories and even those have categories. Government is the authority that addresses, control and administers the institutions of a community. Every country has ruled by a governance structure. There are different kinds of government. This comparison is about the United States and Guatemala’s forms of government.

According to Oxford Dictionaries, the word government means “the governing body of a nation, state, or community”. Unfortunately, some leaders take advantage of their power which leads the government to have a negative reputation.

According to the book, a government is a public institution with authority to formulate, adopt, implement, and enforce public policies for a society (book). Since I am included in the society, the government has a great influence on my daily life. Even though I am not a U.S. citizen, the U.S. government still affects me directly because I live on U.S territory. The government that affects me and my family the most is not the White House or the Congress, it is the local government; Counties, municipalities, school districts, and other special districts that provide a range of services, including rural roads, city streets, public education, and protection of persons and property (book). What is government? It is a system which regulates a nation, city, state, or any specific group of people. It enforces law, provides services, and more or less bands a society together. It is the ultimate servant to the people along with big corporations who for the price of capital provide services and conveniences for the betterment of the people especially in the United States. Their work is communicated in the media in a positive manner. However the media only communicates to you what the government wants Americans to know and pushes out the real issues. A Government, according to the Merriam Webster Dictionary is system used to make decisions for a country. Idealy a country’s inhabitants and decision makers would come to a general consensus and “happy compromise” regarding the national government’s limits and intended purpose. However, in World History there is long pattern of abuse of power, disagreement, a division between people. Politics doesn’t lend itself well to compromise. During the time period from 1765-1800 there were many differing, outspoken views on the role of government, and like many ideas they evolved throughout time.

Economics investigates the decisions of people, firms, countries, and any other ‘economic agent’- it is the study of human behavior and choices. Although economics encroaches into many disciplines and addresses a wide variety of problems ranging from stimulating economic growth to finding evidence of cheating in sumo-wrestling, they cannot pretend that they can understand human behavior and can simply solve all the problems of the world alone.

What is government? Government is a person or group of people who control and make decisions for a country. It has a number of particular roles to help make a country survive and function successfully. I believe that without the roles a government provides a country would not function and would eventually fail. Therefore, I think government is necessary because without it there would not be any provided protection, resources, and regulations.

The study of economics is a vas field including many formulas and eqagions that help us better understand the worlds markets. Economics is not only used in the life of thoses who study it but by everyone shopping or selling goods wheater they are aware of it or not. The study of economics has advanced throughout the years by economist such as karl marx, adam smith, david ricardo, john maynard Keynes and many other individuals that has dedicated their life to not only the advancement of science but the world in general and because of there dedication they we have a greate understanding of how economics works. Understanding concepts such as scarcity, supply and semand, and the profit maximization rule. Economics has also allowed us to identify serting behaviors such as the total variable cost, total fixed cost, average variable cost, average fixed cost and marginal cost and many more.
