Each step grows heavier and heavier until I lose concentration on where i'm going. The beat of my foot and the huffing of my crisp breath starts to drain and I can no longer hear it. My body loses stability and the next thing I know, I’ve passed out on the daunting floors of the forest. **** I awake with beads of sweat flowing down my puffed cheeks. It was just a dream. But somehow it feels like reality. I slowly lift my upper body up and reach for the glass of water sitting on the nightstand. Taking a sip of water with my right hand I wipe the sweat off with the other. The dream felt so real, it was as if I could feel the rhythm of each step I took. Unanswered questions swirl around in my head. “Does this mean something?” I thought to myself. …show more content…
“Might as well tell the whole world who you are.” Marcello says sarcastically. Alvis walks across the room and sits on a wooden chair. “Braveheart you say, by any chance do you know Alexander Braveheart?” Alvis asks in a hushed tone. “Yea, he’s our father, do you know him?” I ask, taking a glimpse at Marcello, he gives me a look saying “Do not trust him!”. “Let’s just say we’re very well acquainted. If I had to guess you kids are leaving the dome as a result of yours fathers discovery, am I right?” Alvis shrugs his shoulders and Marcello looks surprised. “How do you know that?” Marcello yells. “I have my ways, and you’ll be well assured to know that your father did indeed discover something big. Are you ready for it? It’s a big, big secret.” Alvis says while chuckling and grinning. Intrigued, we nod our heads. “Your father found a flaw in the Dome, in a couple of short months all oxygen in the dome is going to be cut off. Your dad is sending you outside to test whether life outside the Dome is survivable.” The minute his mouth closes I explode. Wait, what? In that moment i’d completely lost it. I don’t understand why I trusted Alvis’s words but something about them seemed to have a halo of …show more content…
After she's up, Marcello makes his climb. I look up at the sky and I surprised to see that the sun is still ablazing, I thought it was night. “The dome must of had controlled weather, cause it definitely isn't like this back home.” Marcello chuckles. I take a strong whiff of air and jump up in excitement. “We have to go back and tell the others, they’ll be delighted to know that life outside the Dome is possible.” I say. In this instance, Amaya pulls out a knife from her pocket and walks closer to me and Marcello, we slowly take steps back. “No, nobody is leaving. I’ve been abandoned my whole entire life, have you ever known what it feels like to be an orphan, an unwanted child. Those people that you call the “others” they don’t care about you or me, so why should we. Let them die, they need to pay for the things they’ve done.” Amaya says this with a grimace on her face. I don’t care what she says, I didn't come out here just to live a wonderful life while I let the others die, it's not fair to the innocent children who haven’t have a clue of what's going on. No matter what, I can’t betray my people just because they’ve deceived all of
“Yes that’s the one. He’s known us since we were tadpoles and he tells us about his adventures in the river.”
“Too late now. We’ll need a top forger, one that’s above suspicion. How do we find one? Can your father help on that?”
"Where are you Tom, I need to give you the Thaumometer" I say looking around the destroyed town.
I stop at the edge of the clearing and look at her for a moment. "I'll be back," I repeat, trusting that they'll just take my word for it. They nod and go back to eating and talking. I walk through the darkening forest, leaves crunching with barely a sound under my boots, ferns, bushes, and low branches brushing my clothes and face. I act as a silent shadow moving through the trees until I reach the tree-line.
“no sorry mam' you must be thinking of someone else. I'm drayden, alfonso's friend from the football team”
“This is where the knowledge gets dicey. My family and clan are Selkie’s and now you’re entrusted to keep our secret.”
Patrick lifted his eyebrow as he went for the door. “I guess we’ll find out soon enough,”
“I guess you’re right,” he said, dumbfounded. “But you have to promise, that if I tell you anything about me, you will never breathe a word of it to anyone.”
“’We both have World History, so, I was curious about what type of character he is.”
"Oh like you and bonny little Benjamin over there?" He fires back. "I'm over a hundred percent sure he's gay."
“I haven't seen anything up here yet that isn't.” He grabbed the camera and headed for the door.
"And had he ever said that same thing to you' if anybody asked you haven't seen him'?"
“Few have since most who’ve encountered him have not lived to tell anyone and I can only tell you what I have heard, only that he’s a mercenary hailing from the southern plains of Tyrinia, the Elven continent.”
“I have made an entrance over the years. I try to get in and get food too.” Snarge said
Pulling her knees to her chest, Karolina narrowed her eyes at the second sunrise of this strange planet. Sunrises were usually celebrated; they brought the promise of a new day, a do over. They promised warmth and growth, but now they only reminded her of what she couldn’t do.
