The work environment has helped me learn responsibility such as paying bills, having money for my own interests or wants, and showing me adulthood. It has showed me support through other fellow employees to strive to understand and be a better employee for the business. They also give me insight on what I do they enjoy, like, or dislike about my work ethic. Although, work can be important and show you adulthood, it also can be stressful. The stress of wanting to do the best you can for the business and handling all the other responsibilities I have.

One constant trend throughout many organizations if not all is the struggle in finding qualified candidates to fill job openings. Not only is it difficult to recruit skilled workers, but also to retain them. Going back to my parent’s work experience, companies expected job loyalty, but today, I noticed and read stories of employees accepting other job offers only weeks after being hired. I wonder if people have changed or is it that employers are not able to satisfy employees. To completive and win the battle for workforce share, organizations should rethink their strategies to effectively recruit, motivate, and retain committed employees.

Throughout my research I have noticed that kids who worked hard and were independent at a young age became more successful in their futures. Parents who encourage their kids to work hard in their own advantage are giving their kids a jump start on life. There are many reasons that parents should work their kids but the main ones are, that kids will be given a jump-start in life, and they will learn important life skills like learning to be independent.

My dad passed away when I was 12 years old. It traumatized me of course, but it also taught me to be courageous and to not give up no matter how hard the situation is. In middle school I was able to accomplish all of my school work, take advanced classes, maintain grades above a C average, and take part in after school activities without much effort. Maintaining, the same GPA, I balance acting and directing for my school’s theater company, volunteering as a part of the National Honor Society, being involved in International Club and Student Council, working part time at my local library, and excelling in Advanced Placement classes. With so many obligations, sound time management skills are a necessity. Since I learned to succeed with a multitude of responsibilities that once seemed overbearing, I am seeking to challenge myself through an education at Indiana University with a clear and organized approach.

He has always found a way to provide for my family and give us everything we need. When work gets tough and clients are being stubborn, not once has he thought about turning his back on his company and finding a new job because it has always been the financial support that keeps a roof over my families’ head.
