Dear administrators, teachers, parents, beloved friends, ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the 8th grade graduation. It’s a pleasure to be standing in front of you today on this beautiful day to express the happiness we all feel. During our three years at Cupertino Middle, we learned a lot. Not just about quadratic equations and the solar system, but also about friendship, kindness, and courage. We worked hard, had fun, and went out of our comfort zones everyday. Who new that we would survive the roller coaster ride of middle school and be here getting our diplomas. But we did. Now we are going to high school, hoping we can change the world for the better. Using the skills and formulas we learned, we just might be able to make a difference.
It is because of the unforgettable fourth grade year you provided to me that I chose you to be here tonight. It is also largely because of my fourth grade year that I will soon become a valedictorian of the class of 2017.
Good evening, parents, teachers, and fellow students. We are here tonight to honor our 8th graders from Heninger Elementary K-8 who have worked very hard to make to it where we are tonight. I’m one of the very lucky students that attended since pre-k and in my time here I have learned many things, not just educational but also life lessons as well and found many friendships. My fellow classmates and I are here tonight at our 8th grade promotion from Heninger Elementary. We are the graduating class of 2018!
Good Morning, Mrs. Williams Jones, Mrs. Babb, Mrs. Semper, Mr. Heaton, 8th grade teachers, families, friends, and the graduating 8th grade class. Thank you, for that very kind introduction, (INSERT NAME OF PERSON WHO INTRODUCED ME). And thank you, all for being here today at our graduation to celebrate our achievements and success. Most of you might know me, but for those who don’t, I am Jassnjot Kaur. I have been attending PS124 for nine years and I’m honored to speak to you today as your Valedictorian. Today is a very special and memorable day for not just me, but for all of us which includes us graduating students, our proud parents, and our pleased teachers.
Throughout the years of our middle school experience, we've been in and out doors. The doors of our classroom or office, even through the opening doors to the school into the gym. However, tonight, we will be walking out of the doors of St. Rose of Lima school and walking into a new chapter of our lives, high school. One after one, people come into our lives and people go out. When we
As the school year is drawing near, I want to express how much I appreciate the kind things you have done to support me over the past two years. As a newcomer to middle school, I’ve needed your guidance. The schedule you work is unbelievable, and yet you maneuver your time to help me work out dilemmas I need to resolve. There are other teachers on our faculty who would agree with the important part you play in helping us work through out daily lives.
Once again, I must reiterate the importance of this prodigious achievement for us to be graduating from middle school, One of the key steps in your academic success. Today – right here on this stage you will witness us receiving something that is a representation of all our hard work and diligence we’ve vested within our education over the past three years. Now it is time to flip the page and begin another fulfilling and interesting chapter of our lives – High School. I think some of the most momentous events in a student’s life is none other than graduations. And since it is the end of this stage in our education, it brings us a mixture of joy and pain. Joy for reaching our goals, and pain for saying goodbye to the people who became a part of our lives and helped us succeed here at HMS.
For those of you who are terrified of going into Junior High...don’t be. It’ll be a breeze, at least for most of you. Just remember that you have help all around you whether it’s a teacher a classmate or a even your parents. I can remember a time when I was in Elementary School and I was afraid to transfer into Jr. High. Well now I’m afraid to go into High School. That’s why I’m here to help you through your fear. Some of the most important things in Jr. High is your academics, your personal responsibility, and your social life.
Education, teachers, family, friends, and honored guests. It is my pleasure and honor to be speaking on the behalf of the Carl Sandburg Middle School 2018 graduating class. To my fellow graduates, I cannot believe that middle school is already over. It seems just like a very short dream; it seems like yesterday we were stepping into the building for the very first time as 6th graders. I could not have asked for a better group of peers to leave middle school with. From being cooped up in a room all morning during NJSLA-S testing together and going a little crazy, to experiencing the beautiful, unlimited wilderness that we saw on the Fairview trip, I would not have any of the amazing memories I have without you guys. Eleanor Roosevelt said “the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” If every student here believes in the beauty of their dreams, and does everything in their power to achieve them while seeing the beauty in them, what this class will do in the future will be absolutely breathtaking.
You walk in scanning the badge I gave you the night before you go up the stairs and look no one sees you . walking up to the room I told you about you go in and lock the door , in the middle of the room you see an abandon desk. in the corner is filing cabinet and there a door on the left side
Welcome all to the graduation of the Hadley 8th grade class this year. I want to begin by saying a big congrats to the graduating students of 2017 for making it through all the bumps and swerves in this winding road we have had in these past three years. As I begin, the thoughts run through my head of how our time here had one terrifying beginning, memorable end, and a middle consisting of lots of late nights, rushed mornings, different kinds of distractions, and tests many forgot to study for. Every year I spent here I gained a little more independence, and became all that much closer to who I am today. So today we are celebrating us, and all the milestones we have achieved in our adventure here at Hadley Jr. High.
Welcome everyone who has accompanied me here today. Today is the day where we are 8th graders for the very last time. Many of us have matured over the last two year and some of us still need more time to bloom. We have faced many challenges over the course of the school years here at Ladera vista, after waves of work putting us down, yet our determination keeps us afloat. The environment here at this school is amazing. Everyone here is friendly and wants you to succeed (almost everyone).
As I began school, I earned a much greater appreciation for the woods and lands on the ranch I grew up on. While I loved being at school, I dreaded the hour long bus ride each way. Not to mention the 15-minute drive down the ten-mile long dirt road to get to the bus stop. While in elementary school I was often found daydreaming and was often bored. After taking a series of standardized tests I was recommended for the gifted programs that were offered at the time. Although I did not want to be away from my friends, many of who were other ranch kids that I have been with since birth, I accepted going to the program at the urging of my teachers and my parents. I am not sure if the program is still in use, but as a child I found it amazing. There was very little strict curriculum, I was allowed to read all I wanted and there were many interactive lessons to choose from. I remained in that program throughout elementary, and wished that style of learning still existed as I moved on. Middle school was mostly a blur. I was in honors classes and did well, but really have very little memories of it as a whole. My single biggest memory from that time period was the start to my love of several of my hobbies, especially surfing and long range shooting. There were very few extracurricular sports offered except for little league baseball, which I always participated in and loved. My parents were extremely supportive of my endeavors, but never pushed them on me. I honestly
once in college, Rose explained “all in all there was a dreary impotence to the years, and isolation, and a deep sadness about my father” (44).
When growing up, I loved going to school and dreamed of one day attending college. Attending school every day and receiving good grades had become my top priority from K-12. I excelled from K-8th grade, but entering into high school was completely different than primary school. The atmosphere and environment was new to me, I was free to roam the halls or walk back out the door without any repercussions. This began my downward spiral in high school. My freshman year was by far the best school year for me because that would be the only passing year. The remainder of the three years would be met with skipping, failing, and repeating courses. I learned that it was easy to fail, but hard to catch up! With this motto, I had practically given up on going to school or graduating at this point. My only choice was to obtain a GED, but this was met with dismay too! I would have to wait for my graduating school year to take the test and that would be another year. After speaking with my counselor, she informed me that my school credits were only at ninety and two hundred were needed to graduate. I should have been in the eleventh grade, but my credits were equivalent to a tenth grader and this when a decision was made that graduating from high school with a diploma had become important for me.
Congratulations everyone, congratulations. If you're participating in this graduation ceremony, you've taken the next step toward your future goals and dreams. For those of you that just finished your transfer degrees, congratulations. To those of you that came back to school after a few years off to get a better education, congratulations. To those of you that came to get a certificate or learn IT or computer programming so you can get a better job, congratulations.
