The advantages to having a police department that is diverse and reflects the demographics of the community Police agencies that are rich in diversity are simply more likely to garner individual trust among a group of citizens because the agency is reflective of the community and is inclusive of officers of many backgrounds and experiences. 2. What have been and continue to be the issues facing women in law enforcement? Contrast these issues with the debate of women in combat positions in the military. Identify technologies, public opinions that societal changes that have led to the increase in women in the role. The issues facing women in law the enforcement from women in combat positions in the military is they get discriminated by male officers telling them they can’t do it as a public opinions that led to the increase of women in this particular role. They use drones in surveillance cameras, gunshot detection systems as technologies. 3. What is a “police gratuity” and describe your position on whether these type of benefits should be allowed. Police gratuity is surrounding ethics in law enforcement, gratuity is the gift of an item to another person based solely on their occupation. I think these beliefs should be allowed because if a police officer is going though all this just to remove a drunk person they should be able to get something.
