Instruction Your Content Name of concept or theory: Discrimination Summarize the concept/theory. Put it in your own words. 1-4 sentences. Use APA style in-text citations. Discrimination is where you don’t let someone else different from you have the same rights as you. It consists of categorizing individuals with different aspects and paring them apart from each other. Discrimination is based on race, age, gender, or social status. Discrimination might create predigests and hate. Real World Example. Describe an example of what this concept/theory would look like in daily life. In real life, an example can be seen in schools when peers discriminate against non-English-speaking Hispanics due to their pronunciation and lack of understanding of the English language. Name of video: A class Divided Provide a brief summary of the video. Use 3-4 sentences. A class divides it is about a third grader kids being separated by their teacher based on the color of their eyes. The teacher's purpose was to teach the children about the predigest people's experience when being discriminated against. This technique created a lesson for the children that stereotypes do not matter and that everybody is equal. The kids grow up with a different perspective, and they do explain what experience they had through the experiment. 1

Through this technique, the teacher introduces discrimination among the children by making them feel categorized and different from each other. At first, the blue-eyed children experienced favoritism and privilege, while the brown-eyed children felt confused, angry, and sad. The brown children felt let down by the teacher, and they felt they didn't want to try hard in their work. At last, the same technique was used and vice versa, helping children understand that everybody is equal and should have the same rights as others.
