Halie Adams Extra Credit assignment “Foot Washing,” He Gets Us- 4.65 For my reflection, I chose the “Foot Washing,” He Gets Us-4.65 Superbowl advertisement. I found this advertisement to be the most intriguing because it is about caring for your neighbor and the people that surround you. After all, Jesus cared for us and washed our feet when we needed it the most. It signifies to me that the world needs more love in it, and it needs people to start caring more about others because everyone has their struggles even if you can’t see it for yourself. The cost of a 30-second advertisement during the Super Bowl is $7 million, the same as it was last year. The cost of ads being played during the Super Bowl has increased over many years and will probably continue to increase moving forward. In my opinion, I believe that the advertising during the Super Bowl is worth the return on investment for the companies that paid for the ads to be shown. Around 100 million or so people tune in every year to watch the Super Bowl, some just even to watch the ads. “ There’s no other way to reach 100 million people at one time. And if you can get people talking about the ad, the social buzz can be more valuable than the ad itself. If it’s a standard commercial that just tells people to buy the product, it’s probably not worth the cost. But if you have an effective message and a memorable way to deliver it, a Super Bowl ad could be the way to go.” (Molnar, 2024)
