Current Events Ethics Assignment “The Struggle to Save Lives Inside Gaza’s Hospitals”

On October 31 Israelis attack on Jabalia refugee camp in Gaza causing victims to flood a nearby Indonesian Hospital. Most of the injured or dead were Women and children. Dr. Warwan Sultan, the hospital’s medical director, explained that their were only 16 intensive-care beds in the hospital, which was running dangerously low in fuel, threatening the lives of his patients. The
conditionals for medical care in Gaza are deteriorating across the besieged140-sqare mile coastal
strip. Surgeons are operating by flashlight and rationing water, anesthesia, and generator fuel needed to perform surgeries, provide electricity for incubators, and care for kidney-dialysis patients. Roughly two dozen hospitals are still operating in Gaza, taking on the patients of the twelve other hospitals that have closed due to the lack of supplies and ongoing bombing. As the war continuous to worsen, doctors worry that there facilities will be hit in the bombardment. However, even without a direct attack, the hospitals lack key supplies, which are coming in at a slow pace amid the Israeli siege. Everyone in Gaza has been affected. “we are afraid; we are human beings. But we cannot do anything except continue our mission with our patients” (Al-
Awda; Mhanna Hospital, Gaza). The siege of Gaza city begun on November 2023, when Israel Defense Forces surrounded
Gaza City. The siege is part of the ongoing Israeli invasion of Gaza strip, which was is a counterattack to the 2023 Hamas attack on Israel. The situation described in the news story, involving the Israeli attack on the Jabalia refugee camp in Gaza and the deteriorating medical conditions in the region, violates several ethical standards. One of the primary ethical standards violated in this scenario is the principle of
humanitarian ethics and the duty to protect and provide medical care to those in need, regardless of there nationality or affiliation. The situation demonstrates a failure to uphold the ethical
3
standards of respecting the sanctity of human life, impartiality, and the provision of medical care to those who require it. Humanitarian ethics or often referred to as humanitarianism, is a moral and ethical framework that guides individuals, organizations, and governments in their efforts to alleviate human suffering and promote human dignity, particularly in times of crises, conflicts, and disasters. This ethical framework is rooted in the principals of compassion, empathy, and a deep commitment to the well-being of all individuals, regardless of there nationality, ethnicity, or any other factor. To prevent this situation, a commitment to upholding international humanitarian law and humanitarian le and respecting the rights and well-being of civilians during armed conflicts is essential. Both sides involved in the conflict should adhere to the principles of proportionality, distinction, and humanity. By taking steps to minimize civilian harm, such as not using hospitals for military purposes, allowing the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid and medical supplies, and respecting the sanctity of medical facilities.
In response to the ongoing situation, the international community should pressure all parties involved to respect the principals of humanitarian ethics and international law. Humanitarian organizations should be allowed to operate without hindrance, and access to medical supplies and healthcare should be ensured for all those in need. The principles of compassion, mercy, and providing aid to those who suffer should guide the response to this crisis. The bible emphasizes the importance of compassion and helping those in need. In Matthew 25:35-36 (NIV), it is written “For I was hungry, and you gave e something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited me in; naked, and

Cliford Lawrence Patrick, who was MIMS Group of Companies’ regional vicepresident for listings, had served the company for 19 years before he was dismissed on June 10, 2019. Court chairman Syed Noh Said Nazir @ Syed Nadzir held that the company failed to prove that Patrick’s performance was “unsatisfactory” to justify sacking him. MIMS had claimed that Patrick was unable to meet the sales target and lacked strategic planning skills. Before his sacking, Patrick had been told to take up a mutual separation exercise as a “resignation” option, but he rejected it. Airport security and aircraft hijacking: a long history
Certainly it's not a new phenomenon: aircraft hijacking began many decades ago. The first reported incident took place on 21 February 1931, in Arequipa, Peru when Byron Rickards
(USA) was flying a Ford Tri-motor from Lima to Arequipa. Upon landing, he was surrounded by a group of armed people belonging to a revolutionary group, but later he was freed.
Subsequently, hijacking of aircraft has turned into a horrifying reality for the industry, which has killed many people over the intervening years. It's not restricted to any region – it happens in
all corners of the world. The September 11 attacks in the US alone caused the death of almost 3,000 people.
In 1948, a flight was on its way from Macau to Hong Kong when it was hijacked, killing all 25 people who were on board when the flight crashed into the Pacific Ocean. Another
serious hijacking event took place in 1968. PFLP (Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine) followers…
