The Morning Moon

Anonymous

            O LILY-LADY, 1
Dreaming serenely alone in cloud-garden shady,

            O lily-lady
          In thy garden shady.        5

            The great rose
Now waking, his crimson splendour doth loftily dispose;
Now is thy calm day done, now the star-daisies close,
            O lily-lady
          In thy garden shady.        10

Note 1. Anonymous. The morning Moon. From ‘Xapitessi’. Bowes & Bowes. Cambridge. 1912. [back]
