He’sychasts (pron. He’-se-kasts).
The “Quietists” of the East in the fourteenth century. They placed perfection in contemplation. (Greek, hesu’chia, quiet.) (See Gibbon, Roman Empire, lxiii.) Milton well expresses their belief in his Comus:—
