Golden Slipper (The),
 
in Negro melodies, like “golden streets,” etc., symbolises the joys of the land of the leal; and to wear the golden slipper means to enter into the joys of Paradise.   1
   The golden shoes or slippers of Paradise, according to Scandinavian mythology, enable the wearer to walk on air or water.   2
