Cinoho’na
 
or Quinine. So named from the wife of the Contë del Chinchon, viceroy of Peru, whence the bark was first sent to Europe in 1640. Linnæus erroneously named it Cinchona for Chinchona. (See PERUVIAN BARK.)   1
