Hakluyt, Richard
(b. 1553; d. 1616). Voyages published in the following order:—(1) “Divers Voyages touching the Discoverie of America and the Lands adjacent unto the Same” (1582); (2) “Foure Voyages unto Florida” (1587); and (3) “The Principal Navigations, Voyages, Traffiques, and Discoveries of the English Nation, made by Sea or over Land, to the Most Remote and Farthest Distant Quarters of the Earth” (1589). Of these, a new edition was published in 1809–12, followed by a supplementary volume in 1812, containing several Voyages which Hakluyt had recommended for publication.
