Sal’macis.
 
A fountain of Car&lbreve;a, which rendered effeminate all those who bathed therein. It was in this fountain that Hermaphrodtus changed his sex. (Ovid: Metamo&rgrave;phoses, iv. 285, and xvi. 319.)   1
